Next door to the Hotel Alpha, I think of Hotel Pella as "Plan Beta". I've been here for three weeks now and plan to spend the next three months here. Edessa, like other non-touristic places, has no rooms to rent and even small apartments are only rented by the year (and then you have to furnish everything--fridge, stove, bed, etc).

Hotel Pella gives me a nice little room with private bath and use of a fridge in the hall for a very reasonable (for a hotel in summer)monthly rate of 400 euros (13 / day). Try find that anywhere else!
