I went their middle of August. The service was terrible. Nothing on the room (fruits water and wine was writting on vip room) chair broken, TV RC not working, missing towel, we have to call 2 to 3 times to get the think. Restaurant people where stress. And a lot more... I think it was that bad because the hotel seem to be full and not enough personnel. The hotel is nice but not maintained very well (dirty and a lot of thing broken). I will chose definetly another hotel for my next vacation in Creta.

Knossos Just about 40 min driving to Knossos , the palace of Minos, about 2000 B.C.
Candia Restaurant For very good food and in nice surroundings and excellent service try this option.
Safety on the roads Just be really careful when out walking. You need to watch out for cars screaming round the bends. I would NOT hire a car. The roads are pretty dangerous!
