Top Local Tips for Crete

Golf If you like golf there is a wonderful golf course about 40km away about 45 mins drive. Don't be put of if you have family with you it is right next door to the water park. I walked round with my hubby but you could always drop the wife and kids at the park before you go golf. Well worth a visit.

Getting About (in and around Ag. Nic) Although there is a bus stop directly outside the hotel, we simply got a cab from 'A' to 'B'. You don't need to worry too much about getting into Aghios Nicolaos as able bodied people will surely enjoy a 30 minute walk to get into the main part of town. If however, you'd like to see Elounda or Kritsa, I'd suggest a taxi. Buses to Elounda are frequent but can be quite busy. There could be a possiblity you'd have to stand on the bus for the journey. A taxi to Elounda 6- 8 euros. We got a taxi to Kritsa for 13 euros from the hotel. On arrival we made an appointment with the driver to pick us up from the same spot where he left us. Sure enough, he turned up on time and we got back to the hotel safely.
