We have just returned home after spending two weeks at the Lamon. It is a very nice hotel, very clean,friendly staff, and very pleasant eating area on the front of the hotel overlooking the sea.The folk who serve the meals are delightful. We stayed in a studio and was very dissapointed with the room.We were in number 5 and the feeling when looking through the kitchen window was rather like being in a bunker-concrete and pipes. We could however see the mountains behind through the foliage in the "garden". We were better off than the gent in number 4 who had not got a view of anything nice unless you fancy concrete. The room was kept extremely clean and we have no complaints on that score. We had a really special holiday in Plakias but would not stay at the Lamon again. Don't think all the room have nice balconies like the ones on the front.

Beach Bar If you're looking for a quiet drink in beautiful surroundings with a wonderful mix of friendly locals and travellers head to the beach bar. Turn left out of the Lamon Hotel and walk along the beach (about 5 mins) until you come to the first beach bar. It stays open all day and all night. Minolas is very welcoming and the vibe is very relaxed earlier in the evening (pre 2am) with more upbeat music and dancing later on. They have just about every drink imaginable and serve a fantastic selection of soft drinks (soda, fresh juices etc) and cocktails, shorts and beers all very reasonably priced. One of my favourite memories from Plakias is relaxing in the beach bar getting to know the locals and watching the sun come up, Caipirinhi in hand.
