Quiet hotel nicely located directly on the beach

Great hotel if you want a relaxing holiday. There are now 59 rooms. The hotel works mainly on the basis of 'all inclusive' and the guests are mostly Dutch or Belgiums.
Located 12 km east of Rethymnon. Airport Heraklion 72 km to the west.
Swimming pool (with free relax chairs and parosols) and childrens pool, Pool bar and restaurant.
There is a daily bus service to Rethymnon and Adelianos Kampos, (1,50euro). Taxi around 5-10 euro, (always worth haggling over the fare)
The hotel is ideal for making excursions (pick-up at bus stop) cycle tours, jeep safari, walks etc.
Food (breakfast, lunch and dinner) is served as buffet, good selection but could serve more authentic Greek food.
All local drinks, wines and beers are included in the all in and coffee, tea, cake, ice-cream are served free between 15.00 and 17.00 in the bar.
The rooms are clean, we had a bath and shower (over bath). 2x single beds. Plenty of storage space.
Balconywith 2 chairs and table, washing line.
Plus refridgerator and kitchenette.
The personnel are very friendly and accomodating. Nothing is too much trouble.
Bed linnen was changed twice weekly. Towels are not exchanged daily but beach towels are available for free (10euro deposit)
Extra's: airco (4euro per day) and in room safebox ( 2 euro per day)
2 Chairs and parasol to hire on beach 5euro per day.



Top Local Tips for Crete

Boat trip to the pirate caves We wanted to see the nearby caves but didn't want to go on a large (tourist)boat . We spotted an information board on the beach a few hotels away ( to the east, Dedalos) advertising just that and so booked a 1 1/2 hour trip (12 euro pp). It was a small boat that actually took us in the caves which was great. We had such fun we hired the guy for the whole day! (he had no other customers) He took us to an isolated cove, where we could swim....paradise. He was very friendly and genuine, we ate lunch together and he didn't really want to take our money! He took us to try and find the turtles, which had been spotted only days before. A lovely day out, I believe he truly enjoyed seeing us happy....thanks Manolis!

Short tips 1. You should rent a car to see the island! Don't save money rejecting to rent a car! Use GPS, road signs and good paper map because GPSes has strange maps and coud lead to roads only for tracks! 3. Best plays for quiet relaxing is south beaches. But if you would like to see all the island it is good chose to select Rethimno - this town in the center of the island. 3. It hard to use credit cards even at gas stations (even at big like BP, Shell) at country side. So please use ATM at supermarkets to get cash.
