I stayed at this hotel with my 79 year old mother who is not very mobile. We picked this hotel for its location and easy access to the beach and we were delighted with our choice. It is set in beautiful gardens which you walk through to the beach.
The rooms were clean and well equipped with coffee and tea making facilities. As it was a Thomson Platinum holiday we also had a complimentary bottle of wine and water as well as fruit in our room.
The food was delicious with plenty of choice for both breakfast and dinner. There were several themed evenings, the best of which was the Chinese night. There were activities organized during the day for those who wanted them and entertainment in the evenings. The entertainment team worked very hard to entertain us as well as the professional acts that were on.
The pools were lovely and very warm. The beach was very nice with free sunbeds and umbrellas and a handy bar and restaurant serving snacks and cooked meals at lunch time. The sea was beautiful and clean but on some days it was too rough for swimming. We hired a car for a week to see more of the island. The nearby excavations of Malia Palace are worth a visit to anyone interested in the Minoans. Also a must is Spinalonga near Elounda.
Overall we had a fantastic holiday and can't wait to go back. I would recommend this hotel to anyone, young or old.

Heraklion Public Transport to the Heraklion is fantastic. It is approx 40mins to an hour journey depending on the time of day. It's only 3euros 70cents to travel to there. On the whole I think you wil need to hire a car to see the smaller villages.
