Best Hotel and friendly staff

We stay with my family for 3 long weeks in Castro Hotel, I can say that was the best and most friendly staff, always happy to help you. Best Hotel for us, OK food maybe was not as a 5 star Hotel but we loved that place, we looking forward to go back there next year.

Great food and service.

We really enjoyed our weeks stay at the castro. The food was superb, very fresh and tasty we ate so much we all gained weight. The meat was so tender and tasted so much better than the rubbish we eat in england. The breakfast was a nice change at first but became quite boring after a few days. The pool area was nice, the kids enjoyed it and you can have adrink or snacks. As for the locals on bikes, this did not bother us, we like to enjoy local culture and this was part and parcel to local life. The main road has lots of shops, tavernas and cocktail bars which we enjoyed very much.

Rooms were basic but had all essentials and were spotlessly clean. Pool clean and uncrowded. Staff were friendly and extremely helpful. The food in the resort as a whole was very good but Maxim's - the hotel restaurant - was outstanding. All in all we had a great time in Amoudara and the hotel played a big part in this.

The hotel was ok but apart from the pool which was filthy and the food each day wasnt enough to fill a grown man, but I have to mension the half of peach for desert! I have to say the rooms were very very clean! all you need to do now is improve! If I was you people I wouldnt really recommend you to go here with children! but its your choice!

A very nice place for holidays

I just want to say that Hotel Castro is a very nice Hotel for people that want to have Holidays. Very warm atmosphare and the staff is fantastic! Good food in restaurant Maxim. And as i read for the breakfast in the previous message is not true. Its continental - enreached. For those who don't know what they buy from the agent !!!

A/C problems

We stayed in this hotel for the first and the last night of our 7 day fly & drive trip to Crete. First night we had a room with a view of the back yard with some garbage containers. The view was not so bad compared to the smell. On the last night we had a room with a view allegedly to the sea but actually to the crowded street where local kids run their motobikes on the rear wheel all night long. A/C did not work so we had to keep the window open and enjoy sounds of their engines. BTW. During our 14 day trip to Crete and Sontorini we stayed in 6 different hotels. This was by far the worst breakfast that we've had.

Very friendly & helpful, rooms are very clean , nice pool, and Maxims restraunt was really nice with good food and fantastic staff.
