This is NOT !!! 5 star hotel. The fact that it has a swimming pool does not make you a 5 star hotel. More over it seems as the Capsis Beach hotel is not !!! Part of Sofitel only the Capsis Palace hence the hotel service, food quality and rooms are terrible !!! Do not go there !!! It’s better to go anywhere else but to this hotel ! Sorry but this is the first time ever I got this experience and I travel a lot.

In May/June 2006 we were 2 weeks in the Capsis Beach Hotel in Crete and lived there in the bungalows. These bungalows should have the category 4 stars, however they are worth not more than 2 stars; painting came down from the ceiling, bathroom had several defects e.g. flushing valve of toilet was defect, rusty bathtub and fixturs, dirty tiles (obviously from last summer), double bed had a width of 1,4 m (4,6 feet), wardrobe was muggy, hotel management offerd us to change the bungalow, however the others had the same outfit. "All inclusive" is NOT "All inclusive" !!! You have just a few drinks what you can take from the bar. In the afternoon on the beach you get just popcorn, some drinks and ice cream - e.g. snacks are not free ! You are also limited to bars and restaurants. Once a week you can choose a another restaurants on the beach - however they had two weeks long the same 3 different dishes on the menues. The menues for "paying guests" have shown on many pages a huge selection...... Read more

A beautiful hotel with several swimming pools, bars, restaurants, with access to a private beach. The restaurants are in different style, with a very good and various food. We were in a cute bungalow with all confort and facilities possible. A lot of activities inside the hotel : sports, zoo, night cleub, etc... Not too far from historic sites if renting a car. I plan to go back some day to this place with my family.

My wife and I have just returned from 14 days at the Capsis Beach Resort Hotel which is advertised as 5* Luxury, while the main hotel is very grand and the grounds spectacular the accomodation we occupied was worth no more than 3*. We were on a all inclusive package but this is the 1st all inclusive holiday we have been on that is not r not all inclusive you are limited to certain bars, restaurants, drinks, snacks etc you can only use 1 beach 1 pool unless you are prepared to pay for sunbeds etc. However a holiday is what you make it and we set about enjoying ourselves chilling out on the beach and by the pool. On our 2nd week we were invaded by a convention who took over the hotel completly so much so that we and others were made to feel like 2nd class citizens. Moved from the main restaurant into a pokey restaurant were their was no facilities for keeping the food warm and the 1 and only bar we were allowed to use was available but the lounge area was taken over for an exhibition......
