Top Local Tips for Crete
Chania, Old Harbor Crete is very beautiful and Chania is no exception. The Old Harbor is amazing and a wonderful place to shop or just sit and relax watching the locals. About ten minutes away in Kathalas, check into Georgio's Blue Apartments. It is right on the beach, very affordable and BEAUTIFUL! The rooms are clean and the staff is AMAZING! Beautiful crystal clear swimming pool, overlooking the ocean with a late night bar. The hotel is small, so it is never loud or over crowded and the owner Georgio goes above and beyond to make sure your stay is perfect. At one point, he drove us into Chania, because our taxi did not arrive. This hotel is not out of the way, but it is off the beaten path a little, but is not a problem at all if you have a rental car or don't mind calling for a cab to get into town. I can' t say enough about Georgio's Blue Apartments. Check it out! You won't be dissapointed!
ANOGIA Do visit this wild village 30 kms from Heraklion!

"All inclusive" is NOT "All inclusive" !!! You have just a few drinks what you can take from the bar. In the afternoon on the beach you get just popcorn, some drinks and ice cream - e.g. snacks are not free ! You are also limited to bars and restaurants. Once a week you can choose a another restaurants on the beach - however they had two weeks long the same 3 different dishes on the menues. The menues for "paying guests" have shown on many pages a huge selection of dishes. It seemed to us - management is just interested in earning money and not how do feel the guests !
