crete was wonderful and the hotel was awful, as far as staff and service is concerned. we chose to spend three days of our honeymoon in this hotel. to our disappointment, instead of a double bed in our room which the hotel staff had promised to us, our room had two beds, one attached to the other (i believe you can imagine how annoying this can be - the gap between the two beds). when we demanded another room with a double bed, the staff told us that this was not possible at the time and to be content with the room they gave us.

General tips on cars, dining, shopping Public transport is cheap, dining is good and reasonable with lots of local tavernas
Full English Breakfast Try Steki's Breakfast. It is 30 seconds from the hotel and uses English Sausage and Bacon. The owner is also a great guy who is very funny! A shame we only found out how good their breakfast was on the last day.
