We went and stayed there in May this year and, WOW, we loved it. Amazing food, lovely people, clean and very helpful. We are trying to get back there this October but it seems to be full, but we don’t want to go anywhere else. You can eat from earlier in the morning to late at night, plenty to drink and for the kids loads of variety, and ice cream on tap. I rate this hotel 110%

Don't expect to make friends

As a new couple, we decided to go all inclusive so as not to worry about the financial side of the holiday. When we got to the 'garden view' apartments, our initial thoughts were 'nice and spacious rooms', but as the holiday progressed, we realized that these rooms do not actually see any sunlight, and are constantly cold. No wonder you get use of the free air conditioning. Trust me, you won’t need it. We heard many Brits moaning about the food. To be honest, although it was mainly German orientated, we found it to be a nice change, and better than the usual burger n chips. The hotel staff was quite helpful when you could find them, as the reception desk was often left unattended. This is definitely a German hotel. I didn't believe the theory that Germans hated the British until I visited 'Hotel Arminda'. I found most to just stare in disgust because I dared to fill my plate, rather than just one or two items. Whilst very clean and tidy, the catering is in the German variety with no thought towards the British palate. One 2 slice toaster is provided for all. We met a large number of British personnel who regularly went to eat out - just what you don't expect on an all inclusive holiday. On arrival, you will be asked to "upgrade" your room and for each room this will cost you an extra 40 euros per week. Reception staff will show you a damp smelling room in the older accommodation and then guide you towards the newer style rooms. We tried the newer ones and feeling "ripped off" then went back to Reception where they quite calmly changed us back to the garden view and returned the money left for the remainder of the week. Pools are clean. Do not make the mistake and think the drinks will be like in Spain. Only Cretan whisky (Raki), cheap brandy and ouzo alcoholic drinks are provided in your all inclusive package.
