After 10 months of lack of sun, we were so excited about our trip to Corfu, sun and luxury we thought. Fligt was comfortable, on coach for transfer hol rep gives her spill and tells us transfer should only take about 1hur 30mns, great we thought, wrong 3hours 30mns later we were deposited at our hotel which was heaven after the heat of the journey, we were thirsty and tired, there were children on the coach who were distressed hot and thirsty, but we would not let this dampen our holiday, wrong, we were taken to our rooms and my heart sank it was Moleys house out of 'wind in the willows, it was dark, dingy, old and no storage space, I was devastated the room did not resemble the photo in the Thomas Cook brochure. We complained, we were told that the hotel was a 5 star hotel, but myself and many of the other tourists would not give it a 3, I was really cross when we were told that we could have had the choice to have a superior room which was no different Moleys room, but only brighter, I refused to go back into that room, we were then told of another set of rooms again not offered to Thomas Cook, these rooms are slightly bigger nd have a balcony, we had to pay over 500 euros to get the room we wanted. Please do not belive the Thomas cook brochures, they bear no resemblance to the actual rooms. We also asked Thomas Cook prior to departure if there were tea and coffee making facilities in the rooms, whilest they do appear on the Thomas Cook brochure, they are not available in any of the rooms, however, you can have room service if you book it by 8pm the night before. Some of the rules are not very clear. The fool although beautifully cooked needed to be eaten to be identified and after 7 days of the same diet we started to eat out which was a complete waste considering we had paid for all inclusive. I found some of the staff rude and uncooperative unless you were tall blonde and under 20. The pools were unsuitable for children as they were all about 1.60mt deep and very salty. There was as baby pool, but that was only about 1ft deep. The entertainement was so bad it was best avoided, and you got waken up every morning at 9am with the french version of Hi di hi.......

But I suppose the sun shone every day and we hired a car and exploered the island, we did ask for a packed lunch once, don't bother, my daughter is a vegetarian, roll with lettuce leaf and slice of tom, one boiled egg apple and bottled water..........yum.....will we go back there again? no, please make sure that when they give star ratings that you dont fall into the same trap.
