We spent one week at the end of July 2006 and I would not recommend the hotel to anyone, it is definitely not a 4 star hotel, I would give it 2 at the most. The food was terrible, the customer service was dire, luckily we hired a scooter to escape!

omg!!! This hotel is noway a 4* when me and my friend arrived we were told to leave our bags out side the hotel while we checked in and then had to climb 393 steps to get our room which was crawling with ants, when we got to the beach it smelt like rotten eggs and soon realised it was actually poo from the hotel!!! That meant no swimming in the sea then, the food wasn't bad but the pool was just packed with Italians and our stay was jusy a holiday from hell.

Thank goodness we only stayed 1 week!! could'nt have stayed any longer in that place. Our room smelt of mould, the cable car was filthy with the odd grass hopper vising it at night time. It is rated as a 4* in the UK but in other EU countries it's a 3*, as far as I'm concerned it's a 2.5 *. The food was ok in the evening, no croissants for breakfast though and I had to pay for espresso coffee although it was all inclusive. Apart from Iannis(John)the other members of staff were rude, abrupt and arrogant. They certainly need some customer service training out there!
Unfortunately, this holiday has put me off Greece big time.
The only good thing is the scenery.

Having read lots of views, I have very mixed feelings about the place. The pool was great, the food was very good (people always slag off hotel food) but it was very varied and fantastic selection. The entertainment was rather butlins but they did try realy hard, seeing that they had such a long day and they were very versitile. Richard the main rep was great with the kids and always had a smile, although John at the bar and Maria were the most miserable greeks I have ever come across!! My husband speaks greek and ordered his drinks in greek whereby was then told to speak English as it was confusing!!. The hotel is geared at the Germans and there are alot in situe. The cable car was very safe although rather unpridictable. The beach is not the cleanest and very shingly & pebbly. People will always remember the place with repeated playing of the kids CD with "shaky shaky shaky" being played 20 times a day. The rooms are clean but a bit clostrophobic with children so close(if you know what I mean) The supermarked on site is expensive but if you use the one at the bottom of the hill its alot cheeper and bigger. The wrist bands are a pain but without them you can`t get your drinks. The hotel is very isolated as it`s about 2 miles from ... ANYWHERE. Then again we always go self catering so it`s very different. All-inclusive is great if you want to eat & drink till you drop and don`t mind staying in the same place for 3 meals a day 7 days a week. For us it`s not our thing, although we had a great holiday. people judge 4* hotels, but if you go realising that 4* in Greece is equivelant to Butlins you can`t go wrong. Overall Food excellent, booze you need to drink a lot to get drunk, hotel fine, staff - entertainment great - bar miserable. Basically it`s a cheepish hotel so you get what you pay for.

Went to Ermones 10th-17th June 2ad 2ch read previous reviews before departure.. Condition of the buildings are rough and could do with upgrade Greek safety is an issue you fall on this side of the mountain your hurt. Not recommended for aged or unfit and disabled legs like a mountain goat after a week.
Usual morning scenario with the beach towels and loungers. Cable car does go mad at times due to German children and adults I noticed pressing buttons and opening doors all at once to confuse car. Food good and varied and often.
The room smelled a bit stale to start but great air conditioner units cleared that up in no time cleaners came round daily and were excellent at their job bar staff slow but friendly and efficient.
The kid's entertainment group were fantastic entertaining kids from 1st thing in the morning to putting on evening shows in the evening.
The beach was a bit rough watch out for the deckchair man green loungers are the hotels and free, blue are his and chargeable. He always approaches from behind so you can't get a good swipe at him and if you go to the toilet he will resell your lounger.
Overall we didn't pay much for this holiday and the kids liked it I think Corfu is a great island and the people are more than friendly I don't think I would return to the Ermones based on the safety/mountain climb aspect for children and aged.

I went to this hotel a week ago. I was worried about the bad reviews but there's just nothing to complain about! It was I nice hotel and the staff was good and very friendly. (if anyone has a picture of john from the bar, please tell me!)
Maybe the hotel was a little bit remote, but we got it very cheap so we may not complain. The food was very good, the pool was ok, and the beach was lovely. That's all I need! I really enjoyed it!

Just arrived back after a relaxing week at this hotel. We checked in and walked down the steps to our room, which was on the last level near the beach (not realising at this point or being told there was a cable car!). We walked up and down the steps several times over the week due to the cable car either not working properly or it was quicker to walk!!. The rooms were basic but clean (I think we were one of the lucky ones judging by the complaints about some of the rooms from people we spoke to). We reported our shower not working properly, which took 2 days to fix! Some of the hotel staff were not the friendliest and were not at all bothered when you made a complaint (I think we were in the line of many!). The food was good and varied, entertainment was fine if you had kids, but sadly not for adults (a bit like Butlins!!). The resort was too quiet for me but I did have a nice relaxing holiday lying by the pool every day. I would go back to Corfu but sadly not here. I would not rate this hotel 4* but for what we paid it was ok.
