Don't set your expectations to high!

We have just returned from a planned holiday in Corfu - Belvedere having some pleasant memories but some disappointments as well. To start with good things, the islands is very picturesque and offers a lot of opportunities both for discovering the nature and to have fun. The hotel, however, despite the fact that outside view is very nice and therefore attractive it is far for offering neither three star facilities nor services. Rooms are old furnished and therefore sometimes noisy, and (some of them) have a bad/heavy smell. It could happen to have a TV set without TV signal and phones without tone. Services are by far behind facilities; their personal doesn’t care about the fact that you reserved your places in advanced and has no room planning. They offer rooms with kitchen facilities to “All inclusive” guests simply don’t care that you paid for something else. They just write down your claims without solving them, and after days of doing nothing they simply say “it is not possible” irrespective that you paid for the service. As an example, we beg them to fix our phones in the two rooms and they came in the fifth day of our staying saying, “we have a problem and cannot solve it”. We desperately needed phones because they couldn’t give us two neighboring rooms for us and our two children, and this despite the fact that we paid full ticket for our less 12 years old kid. What was more disappointing was that the answer came from the deputy manager, and was not associated with any alternative. Continuing with services, they barely changed towels ones during our seven days staying, they are very noisy, being frequently difficult for us to sleep in the afternoon. For “All inclusive” program they offer beer in small plastic glasses, being difficult to come from the beach and benefit for the service. Food was, usually acceptable, except the fact that they sometime reuse what was not fully consumed in the morning (and for a time in the evening) and provide it as an alternative to the main courses. It happened to us to have these alternatives with a marked sore test. Finally, their serving dishes were dirty with reflecting the previous meal menu or showing detergent traces. All in all we said, "It was nice but we definitely won't come back".

Absolutely awful from start to finish. Have video evidence of staff chasing guests with scissors trying to cut their all Inc bands off their wrists. Food was horrendous, covered in flies, dead and living. Management met with me twice, and told me 'what do all you type of people expect'???? Blood on headboard all week, the list is endless. Take a look at tripadvisor too and see all complaints there. The place should be closed. Too much to put on here, just don't go.

Arrived and thought we had struck lucky the reception is so impressive but what a shock the all inclusive was not what we were use to drinks had to be paid for unless you wanted to drink ouzo, wine or weak beer. Fresh fruit was non exsistent after three days made an appointment to see manager who didn't know his staff were on strike for two days. Food was awful unless you like cheese spam and bread. This is one of the most awful holidays my family has had although we tried our best to make the most of it. If you are about to go don't expect entertainment, children activites, clean linen, rooms cleaned at least once a week fresh fruit meals you can eat but do expect your children to be bored to death pick up ear infections dirty linen sewage coming up through the toilets and a nasty taste of being conned.

All inclusive was a con, only spirits included were ouzo, Lowenbrau and red/white vinegar (not even chilled). All drinks served in plastic cups unless you were a "paying customer" - hello!!! Did I get this holiday for free????. Kids could eat nothing, boiled eggs were black inside, pancakes were greasy, and chips were reheated from night before. Food was not kept warm and salad was not kept cool. No food guards to prevent flies and wasps from eating it before we got to it. Pool disgusting - never cleaned when we were there. No shallow end for the kids. Open balconies with no hand rails to prevent kids from falling onto pool side below. Rooms not cleaned and not secure. Only 1 bath and 1 hand towel for a family of 4 for the entire week. Bathroom smelled really bad, toilet leaked. Pool table not working for entire week of our stay. Rep unhelpful, scared to come near hotel. We were asked by the management why we brought our kids with us?????. Some families we met there were sick for most of the time, including one young boy who came home with salmonella poisoning. Management were not interested in you unless you were 5'8" slim and blonde. The staff are scared for their jobs and management are useless. Do not go to this hotel; instead go to the Iberostar Regency about 5 mins walk to the right from this hovel. They know how to treat holidaymakers there. DO NOT GO TO THE BELVEDERE - HOLIDAY FROM HELL TO THE EXTREME!!!!!.

Awful holiday

We booked our holiday the day before we left. Pictures looked lovely. We were so disappointed when we turned up to find creatures living in our room, no real choice of food and lots of children had come down with an ear infection from being in the pool. We spent our whole time down the beach away from the hotel with two little children. It took the hotel staff a whole 24 hours to move us room and still it wasn’t much better. Please if you are thinking about booking a holiday here save yourself the hassle and don’t. Also one entertainments evening which was awful.

All Inclusive Con

Our room was pleasant and clean, with a lovely sea view however, we only saw a cleaner once in the week we were there and had our linen/towels changed once. The pool was lovely however not enough sun loungers around the pool area. Only one bar was open. The nearest villages are a taxi ride away. Food is not good. All inclusive advertises local spirits and ice cream as being included. Local spitits consisted of Ouzo and ice cream was a scoop or vanilla and chocolate ice cream in a dish - you had to pay for all other ice creams/lollies. The only other alcoholic drinks included apart from Ouzo was Lowenbrau, white and red wine - all served in plastic tumblers. Food was OK if you like McDonalds - burger and chips were served up at least four times during the week. If you like bread, cheese and spam then you will be in your element as this is the only snacks available in the all inclusive holiday.

Just wanted to go home ...

What a disaster ... the moment we arrived we were filled with sad faces and people to tell us to go home. Things can’t be that bad eh? YES!!! The food was absolutely gross, cheese - ham and dried bread! We had to beg for butter. Our room was filled with lizards, spiders and giant grass hoppers. Toilet didn’t work, so a plumber was called at 12am. The pool was yuck, it smelt sick and there was a terrible green colour to the water. No entertainment, children were extremely bored. It was up to me and a few friends to start of volleyball to entertain the kids. No lifeguard appeared as he was always too busy down the beach!!!! We were left with one member of staff for 3 whole days as they all went on strike. Our hotel rep was never there as she was too scared to deal with complaints. No water sports as promised. Alcohol had to be paid for, we thought it was all inclusive but all ice creams and spirits had to be paid for. Our holiday just got worse by the day, we did make several friends out there only because we all stuck together and voiced our opinions. One chap waited 4 hrs for a coach to pick him up and take him to the airport. The only day I was extremely happy was when it was my last day to come home!!
