We enjoyed our stay the manager was most helpfull in all respects, including booking the Lido and arranging taxis for us etc- and accomodating us when we arrived late for breakfast!

Top Local Tips for Athens

Ask hotel staff for restaurant recommendation. We spent the first 2 days wandering around wondering where to eat for a typical Greek meal at a reasonable price. We asked hotel recpetionist and were directed to a lovely Greek restaurant a few minutes walk away (great after a tiring day). We had a typical Greek meal at a very cheap price.

Getting to Athens from the airport Take the metro, the station is located in front of the airport right next to the Sofitel hotel, For 5 or 6 euro you can get a quick, comfortable and clean ride to any of the central metro stations. Most all hotels are within a short walking distance, just find the one closest to your hotel.

Kaisariani Monastery Beautiful, serene, and a relatively easy short trip out of Athens.
