Suspicious people When you noticed somebody who has been waiting/sitting at one place (usually a man) along streets or on the pedestrian sidewalks greeted you and offered to help you because you're lost or seemed to have lost your way, please ignore him. He may either direct you to the wrong place or to the place you're looking for but either way he will ask/demand a small fee for it.
recommendation for lunch and dinner roof terrace in Benaki Museum is a very good place to have lunch or dinner. Fantastic view and delicious food. Need to book in advance. Byzantino in Kydatheneon street is good for dinner. Try their fish soup and aubougines with beef. Fantastic!

The hotel was extremely basic - and the communal areas were not clean. Apart from being stuck in a 1970s interior nightmare, the whole hotel needs a good vacuum. Our room on the fourth floor did not have the bathroom attached - we had to walk across a hallway shared with the neighboring room's bathroom. The walls of our room had severe water stains - probably damp. They even give you the TV remote control at reception - what does that say about them?!
We had booked to stay three nights but left after the first night.
There are other hotels in the same street which have views of the Acropolis and are much better value for money. I would definitely advise you not to stay at Hotel Myrto.
