This is a great hotel for the budget conscious traveller. Although the rooms are spartan, the staff more than makes up for it by advising on everything from what to do, where to eat, and how not to be taken advantage of by taxi drivers. It is also in a great location, just a short walk away from the plaka and the acropolis.

We spent three days in Marble House in September 2008 – at the beginning of our tour and in October 2008 at the end of it.
We appreciated that all important attractions can be reached within a short walk. Also, we liked that Marble House is located in a comparatively quiet neighborhood. A big Supermarket is just around the corner - about 200 Meters from the hotel.
Two rooms have a big roof terrace, two others a big balcony. We had one and enjoyed it. The rooms are not the biggest, but they are clean. They have a ceiling fan, but no air condition. Keep that in mind if you come in summer. The rooms have no TV – we didn't missed it. Not all rooms have a private bath - that's not everyone's cup of tea. In summary, we think cost-performance ratio is fair for a hotel in central Athens.
