My best stay ever!!!

Great location! Great treatment! Next to the new Acropolis museum and all interesting sites in Athens Plaka and Parthenon. All hotel rooms are equipped with fast internet access, however, even if you don’t bring your own notebook Marble House has the best internet table corner. Made of glass and real marble!!!! The hotel is inside a small dead-end street away from noise, seams like an oasis… within Athens. The hotel itself and rooms are well decorated and seams recently renovated. A huge BRAVO goes to owners who really pay attention to your request always friendly, welcoming, and with a big smile willing to assist. Definitely, that’s one good reason to return!!!

going from paros back home in holland, we didn't want to hurry and decided to travel in two days. a british young lady gave us the name of marble house.
our room was just good, very clean and the (new)bed very good. we had our own toilet and shower (will be renovated in autumn...). even a very nice breakfast was served and the manager was very very helpfull with everything.
in greece people are often trying to pick only your money. in this lovely hotel one does his utmost to make you feel comfortable and pleased.

Several times been there.Always polite,efficient and helpful staff.Spot clean rooms,all of them with a samll fridge,some of them with balconies,even decorated "Plaka Style"Restaurants,supermarket,groceries 3 minutes walk.Walking distance to Acropolis.No frills.Excellent.

This is a great hotel for the budget conscious traveller. Although the rooms are spartan, the staff more than makes up for it by advising on everything from what to do, where to eat, and how not to be taken advantage of by taxi drivers. It is also in a great location, just a short walk away from the plaka and the acropolis.

I had a very a nice stay in this hotel, I met nice and friendly people there and had a comfortable stay. the staff was very nice and gave me a lot of advices to contribute to my wonderfull stay in athens!!

Firstly, i was whith my girlfriend in Athens, because I'm an artstudent and Athens is a graet city to see antic art...
I made a trip arround the mediteranean see and a friend advise me this hostel...
The room was confortable, and quiet!
Good place to meet new people, some packpakers like me!
Well i recommend this place to all young people who want to go in Athens for cheap!!

We spent three days in Marble House in September 2008 at the beginning of our tour and in October 2008 at the end of it.
We appreciated that all important attractions can be reached within a short walk. Also, we liked that Marble House is located in a comparatively quiet neighborhood. A big Supermarket is just around the corner - about 200 Meters from the hotel.
Two rooms have a big roof terrace, two others a big balcony. We had one and enjoyed it. The rooms are not the biggest, but they are clean. They have a ceiling fan, but no air condition. Keep that in mind if you come in summer. The rooms have no TV we didn't missed it. Not all rooms have a private bath - that's not everyone's cup of tea. In summary, we think cost-performance ratio is fair for a hotel in central Athens.

I went for business to Athens and I spent some days in Marble House Hotel. It was very enjoyable and the staff are very nice, helpful and they have very good service. The hotel is nice and very cleanand has a good location.

Every time we go to Greece (once or twice a year) we reserve a room in Marble house. The location is ideal: close to Acropolis, and very quiet. The rooms are simple but comfortable and the hotel is very clean. I recommend this hotel to Greece lovers.

I really enjoyed my stay at the Marble House. It's amazing value for money. The location is great- 10 minutes walking from the Acropolis and the centre with shops etc. The owners were very friendly and helpful. I would definitely go back.

Top Local Tips for Athens

Taverna Erata- stay away! Eat at the small cafes, during hot weather you don't feel to hungry. You get a much friendler service. We went to Taverna Erata a proper restauraunt but the service was terrible me and a friend nearly walked out if it weren't for our friends holding us back. One young waiter ORDERED that we gave him our plates when finished. I thought we were meant to be waited on not the other way around. Then when my friend tried to put a tissue on the plate he wouldnt take it and gave us bad looks. We had an argument and he was even argueing with his boss.

Marble House Hotel Use the mtro from Athens airport, just change once and get off at Syngrou Fix station, the hotel is within ten minutes easy walk away
