I would like to thank all the staff of Marble House Hotel Athens Greece for their hospitality, their good service, their very good care of cleaning. The hotel has a good location, very close to Acropolis and for shopping. I spent nice days in marble house.

We were a group of students from Switzerland travelling in Greece during summer 2008 and stayed four days in Marble House in Athens. Our stay there was so great that we wish we could have stay more. People there was very friendly and we met a lot of nice and interesting people. The hotel has a very good atmosphere and is close to Athen's most interesting places. The staff of the hotel was very nice and gave us a lot of usefull advices to make our stay more pleasant. This hotel was recommended by a friend of mine and came up to be a really good place to stay.
Great Value

My family stayed at Marble House for two nights at the start of a 2 week stay in Greece, then for one night at the end. The location and cleanliness were great and the service more than adequate. The owner was very helpful and knowledgeable. The accommodations suited our needs well, though I should note the hotel has no elevator and each floor (about 6 rooms) share a small common bath. Also there was no air conditioning in our room, which suited us just fine. I would strongly recommend this hotel, but caution guests to assess the amenities (or lack thereof) to determine if the hotel suits them.
Very nice

I was very happy to stay in this little hotel. Very good location for visiting by foot the center of Athens, close from the Acropolis.
The hotel is very nice, the room clean and very quiet. The people are always ready to help you and give good advice to make your visit even better.
Excellent breakfast.
Better to go elsewhere...

First of all, sorry for my not perfect English...It is not my mother tongue! I and my husband stayed for two nights at Marble House Hotel in Athens: the only positive thing is the price, 50 euro for a double room with a small bathroom. The negative things are: the location, not so close to the Acropolis & co., in a district which at night does not seem so "safe"; the room and bathroom, very small, quite dirty, without air conditioning unless you pay 9 euro per night to get it; the lack of an elevator, with very narrow stairs; the service, because nobody came to clean the room and at our arrival we had to pay in advance for our stay. So, better to spend some euros more but to find a more comfortable place to stay!!!

Friendly service, helpful family but no shower curtain! Nice and quiet. Located off the noisy thoroughfare. No tv - thank goodness. No phone - who needed it? Could have used more towels. Very, very small shower, but the place was so close to everything we wanted to see. Interesting Greek breakfast of fresh bread, jams & butter, Greek coffee and orange juice. One of the few places we stopped that did not serve instant coffee. The bougainvillea died several years ago so don't look for it. Do not attempt to drive up to it - the ally is very narrow and IF you can find a place to park, you'll have to back out. The pharmacy is out the alley and across the street. Markets are easily within walking distance. The Acropolis is a decent walk, but can be done easily if you like walking. I'd recommend it if you keep in mind that European small hotels are not the Holiday Inn. A wonderful introduction to the differences between American ways and European ways. Bring your own soap! Be prepared for very small spaces and remember that Greek sewage systems cannot handle toliet paper - that's what the little refuse receptables in the bathrooms are for.

Top Local Tips for Athens

Taverna Erata- stay away! Eat at the small cafes, during hot weather you don't feel to hungry. You get a much friendler service. We went to Taverna Erata a proper restauraunt but the service was terrible me and a friend nearly walked out if it weren't for our friends holding us back. One young waiter ORDERED that we gave him our plates when finished. I thought we were meant to be waited on not the other way around. Then when my friend tried to put a tissue on the plate he wouldnt take it and gave us bad looks. We had an argument and he was even argueing with his boss.

romantic Great food and music festivals at the ancient area of Athens which is really great

Marble House Hotel Use the mtro from Athens airport, just change once and get off at Syngrou Fix station, the hotel is within ten minutes easy walk away
