Terrible neighborhood

The best of the hotel is the reception, very friendly and helpful, but the rest is appalling: taxi drivers wouldn't drop me of because of the bad reputation the neighborhood has (drugs and prostitutes). As a woman alone I felt very frightened walking back to the hotel at night. The breakfast might as well be left out as the bread is stale, the choice limited and the orange juice a fake imitation. Plus if you enter the bar at 23:45 at night you won't get served and are 'thrown' out as 24:00. Not very hospitable. Never again.
The worst

They are overbooking(means they accept your reservation and afterwards they lie to you about a boy thet had an accident and the had to call it's family...),extra 5 euros per day for the aircon, 50 meters from the main drug market of athens and at night prostitutes work even closer. You can find a better twom star!

This is an excellent budget hotel within walking distance to everwhere - Acropolis, Plaka, Syntagma Square etc.
The staff are friendly and helpful - giving us a map and recommending a route to take for our 1 day of exploring.
The room was clean, but as said the bed was a little hard and it was a bit noisy but nothing too bad. The bathrrooms were very nice and new - but no attachment for the shower head which made showering a bit difficult.
Good breakfast for a 2 star and lovely roof terrace with views of the Acroplolis (also good for a cheap drink in the evening.
All in all considering what you pay and that it is a 2 star, it is great value for money and I would definatly recommend it for a good quality budget hotel.

Arrived with my daughter to be told hotel was fully booked even though they had accepted my booking severalweeks before and taken payment. They were quite unconcerned and directed us to another of their hotels "around the corner". It was 10.00pm and we had been travelling all day. The street we had to walk down to reach the other hotel was filthy and strewn with rubbish. Large groups of men were hanging around on every pavement and I was terrified for our safety. I feel in the circumstances we should have been taken there and not expected to go through what we did. I certainly wouldn't recommend this hotel or the area to anyone.

I found this place to be fine for the price. It is very conveniently located near the Monastiraki metro stop (direct line to and from the airport) and a short walk to the Acropolis and major sites. The area is a bit dodgy and I'm sure that many women would not feel comfortable walking around by themselves at night but I don't think there is anything of substance to be concerned about. My greatest complaint would be that the air conditioning isn't included in the price but costs an extra 5 per night. I would definitely stay here again if I was back in Athens.
Noisy

We spent 1 night at the hotel recently on our way to our island hol, which was definitely enough. The area was rough and very noisy. Best thing was the view of the acropolis from the hotel roof garden. Did not feel confident enough to go out.

What you get for your money I feel it would be better to stay for a shorter time in Athens in a middle-cost hotel (90 to 110 euros for a double) rather than staying longer in a lower-cost establishment. Athens has beautiful places to see and the people are mostly charming and warm (their occasionally flippant attitude is not disrespect, it's just part of Greek culture and mannerisms). In three days, two nights, one can see the best tourist sites (15 euros combo Athens card) and dine in the lovely Plaka district one night and on Lycabettus Hill the other for instance, and get an initial idea of the Greek nation.
