Worst hotel in the world

This is the worst hotel in the world. Carpets are very dirty, service is poor, toilets stink, elevators (lifts) are from 1920. Please avoid this hotel. The rooms are so tiny. The bed and the pillows are very hard. Too much noise from traffic. This hotel is a nightmare.
Dust

Just after you enter the room the first thing that attracts your attention is the carpet which may have been yellow 10 years ago, but at the moment is more close to brown - you just can see footmarks on it. As now you can expect the walls are not clean as well. The furniture and the bath tiles are old. But the thing which I cannot bear and I do not think somebody else can are the reading lamps above the bed full with DUST And when I say full this is not overstate, you just can see a HANDFUL OF DUST in it.
After you go to the reception to complain against all these things they just do NOT understand you, your English cannot be understood at all.

I have stayed in this hotel about 20 times, 3 times every year.. They are honest people; I never faced any problems in this hotel.. The staff (owners) are very helpful.. Mike (front office) is very friendly

But in the blinding heat it was nice to step into an icy reception and managed to get our keys quickly.
Took us a while to find out where the elevators were.. because they are little metal boxes. Scary, but fun and old!
We managed to get two rooms with balconies, and that really made the hotel a lot better for us.
The service downstairs is not very helpful... Some of the time they pretend to not understand English and are generally a bit put-out if you ask them to help you in any way. However, after 5 days in Greece this seemed to be normal behaviour anyway... It's just how Greek's treat english people, so it didn't seem a bad thing any more.
Breakfast is limited to a few things. Not high quality but it was OK and you could have as much as you liked. Shower was a bit cramped and drenched the floor.
Location is very good. Next to an easy to use metro system, and on a popular square (not recommended at night unless you want to get hooked up with some drugs, ha!).
Anyway. Despite so many things being sub standard, the hotel had a lot of personality. It was a lot of fun, and though that isn't what you expect from a hotel usually it came as a nice suprise. Balcony is a must, however.
