Hotel is perhaps ok for a two star place, however, some things to consider before you'll reant a room here: it's very noisy as the major street runs right by it. When we were there a/c was not working and to sleep with open window was impossible. Lifts are tiny and it's practically impossible to fit in with the luggage. Climbing up with the suit cases wasn't the best solution either. Rooms and beds in tem are small and pillows are so tiny, that they are almost virtually non-existant. Location is not picturesqe, however, hotel is not far from the National Archeological museum (7-10minute walk) and a lovely St. Paul's square with a variety of places "where the locals eat.

Top Local Tips for Athens

Close to Omonia subway Both the Balasca Hotel and Aristoteles Hotel were near the Omonia subway stop. We took a ferry from Piraeus port to Cyclades and had an ok experience with purchasing ferry tickets ahead of time through Greek Ferries Club. When picking up the tickets at Piraeus location (provided by Greek Ferries Club) the evening before our ferry departed, we gave the Greek Ferries Club booking number for Hellenic Seaways. That office did not know anything about our booking and said they don’t even handle Hellenic Seaways! Apparently we were not the first customers that day to have this same problem. So, after giving us directions to the two Hellenic Seaways offices around the corner, one of which was right outside the port and the second of which was a block or more away, we found that both of them were closed by the time we got there! We left Piraeus port that night with no tickets. The next morning, we had to arrive at the port early so that we could pick up our tickets before our ferry left.
