This past summer, my husband and I were delighted with our stay at this lovely, small classic hotel in a quiet residential area of Athens that was within 15 minutes walk of the Plaka and other well known "tourist" areas. This was our third summer in Greece and we were already familiar with two other hotels where we had previously stayed. The Art Gallery was miles above either, and still had extremely reasonable rates.
One of the most well known travel guides had described the rooms as "small and plain" but we found this to be definitely NOT the case, since we had stayed elsewhere the previous summer and KNOW what "small and plain" really means, along with a "view" of an inside fresh air shaft!!
The Art Gallery rooms are classic, clean, and have an slightly Art Deco ambiance. The morning breakfast, (serrved on the fourth floor outside terrace in good weather) is delicious and a really good value. The staff ( mostly family members who live on site) are friendly, knowledgable......
