This hotel is absolutely amazing. It deserves at least a 4 star rating. It is so clean. The staff are lovely and very helpful. This has to be one of the best value for money hotel accomodation in Athens.

The hotel is grand, modern, clean and luxurious and we were particularly surprised and impressed with the starry lights above the bed!! We stayed at the Apollo for our first night and then Centrotel the next and couldn't believe the huge difference in standard for the same price.

Great and helpful staff, nice interiour and decoration, spacious rooms, a nice little fornitured balcony and a luxurious bathroom - to a very affordable price. And I agree with the other reviewers - how can this hotel only be a 2 star hotel.
We will go there this summer again!

The staff was very helpful and friendly and the rooms are very comfortable and quiet with super bathrooms.Every thing seemed super clean as well. The price was unbeatable !

This hotel should a higher star rating - absolutely one of the best city hotels I have stayed in. Nice staff, and there was really that extra details that made it a wonderful stay. Would definitely recommend this hotel - and will definitely be back!

I stayed there three diferent times, and did not found anything wrong. I found everything the same and good each time. I highly recommend this Hotel to any one that wants a nice clean place wih a reasonable price.

This was a very pleasant find. The staff was always helpful and were eager to go out of their way to help us. Breakfast was plentiful and very good. The parking garage was a tight fit, but we appreciated being able to park off the street for no charge. The rooms were nice with balcony, a luxurious bathroom and spa tub. The interior design was inspiring. I recommend this hotel highly.

Relaxing Luxury

I stayed at this hotel for 2 nights (27 & 28 March 2009). Excellent hotel for the value/money.
Balcony with green plants, spacious room, super clean bathroom, and the stars above us sweet company all night ( you will find out what i mean....when you'll be there )
Very helpful stuff, reasonable rate per night...a jewel in the center of Athens heart.
My first choice selection now at Athens.

Nicely furnished. Hotel staff were extremely helpful. Location isn't that great but it's rather near the main railway station.

This hotel was a rose among the thorns ,friendly amazinly friendly staff, clean and comfortable.They also serve a warm chocolate brownie with icecream to die for, as an experienced traveler i would stay here again.

An excellent stay!

I stayed at the Centrotel in September with two friends. I was particularly impressed with the staff at the hotel. They were very helpful especially when one of my friends was unwell during our stay. The hotel has modern deco, spacious rooms (we stayed in a decent sized triple room - and they are difficult to find!) and was reasonably priced. It is not right in the centre of Athens but the metro is only a few minutes walk away. I would definitely use this hotel again.

Centrotel is absolutely one of the best city hotels i have stayed in!
Nice interior and modern decoration. The staff was very helpful and polite.The rooms are clean and comfortable with super bathrooms. I believe that this has to be on of the best value for money hotel accomodation in Athens. I will definitely be back!

Excellent value

This hotel was recommended via a question to a trip advisor - and I haven't thanked him yet!
What an excellent choice. The area surrounding the hotel was a little shabby but we weren't bothered by it. The proximity to the Metro was ideal with only 2 stops to Monasteraki.
The room we were showed had obviously been occupied by a smoker, but after speaking with reception we were quickly moved. Our accommodation was really clean and comfortable and the whirlpool bath very welcoming after tramping 'round Athens each day!
We wouldn't recommend the breakfast however - definitely not worth the money......the sandwich/ toast/ spanacopita place opposite the metro was much better.
We'd definitely stay there again

An Oasis in Athens!

We were looking for a nice hotel at a reasonable price in Athens and after reading reviews on TripAdvisor we decided to chance Centrotel. We were incredibly happy with the clean, modern decor of the hotel. The bathroom was beautiful and the air conditioning worked very well... which was wonderful after weeks of travel in the heat with no AC. The hotel is not located in the best area, but it is only a 2 stop subway ride to the accropolis/plaka area and we only walked 3 blocks to the subway. We were travelling with a 9 month old and never did we feel unsafe in the area. The hotel also provided us with a pack and play for the baby to sleep in and overall we were all very comfortable. The common rooms downstairs are also great if you want to lounge around a little. The only downside for me were that the bed was a little too firm for my taste and the location wasn't as central as I would have liked, but the value for money was incredible! It felt like a 4 star experience!

An Amazing Place to Stay to End Our Trip

This is a jewel of a place to stay in. We were amazed at the decor and since it was built from scratch back about 2004, everything is new and well planned. We had a double room for 80.00 Euro and what a way to spend our last two nights in Greece. You won't be dissappointed with this place. The ensuite was superb and there was little or no smoky smell anywhere in the hotel - a breath of fresh air in our experience as far as hotels in Greece go!

Fantastic hotel in Athens

This hotel was a fantastic find in Athens. For 100 euro on a Saturday night my sisters and I stayed in their 3 bed room. We had an amazing spa bath and the service was amazing. 24 hour room service and they even ordered pizza for us at midnight. It was right near Victoria Station and very easy to get around. At first you think you are "out of the town" but you aren't, it takes 5 minutes to get to the Acropolis by train. We loved it and would stay there again and again!

A beautiful budget place to stay

Centrotel is well located and an ideal base for an Athens visit. We stayed two nights - three sharing - and the room and bathroom were delightful. The balcony was great and the service was 5 star. I would strongly recommend this place as an oasis of calm with a great bar and helpful, friendly staff. We were surprised at the reasonable tariff - we expected to pay more that 90 euros for three in a top class place which a friend from Australia recommended. We found some great local eateries and transport connections were ideal.

Top Local Tips for Athens

Using the Underground Be very careful when standing in a full underground train near the doors. If you look like a tourist you may be the target of a pick pocket. I nearly was. I realised there was more jostling around me than I thought was warranted and sure enough, a young guy had my back pocket zipper open and was about to get my wallet when I discovered him (I had reduced what I carry in my wallet to other locations such as a body pouch).

TAKE IT AS IT IS BRING TRANSLATION BOOK OR LEARN GREEK .THE ISLE OF SANTORINI WAS LOVELY PEOPLE MORE FRIENDLY WARM AND INVITING,

Arriving from the airport The best way to reach the hotel from the airport is to usea combination of the suburban rail (Proastiakos) and Metro. There is a metro line from the airport to the city as well, but when we were visiting Athens , the line was closed for renovation (until late 2009). Suburban trains leave the airport approximately every 15 minutes...take the train bound for Ana Liossia. Get down at Neratziotissa station and change to the Green Metro line bound for Piraeus. Get down at Victoria Square. Come out of Victoria Square station and stand at the centre of the square (with the hotel Palme Bistro on your left). Now keep walking straight down the square....and down a slightly downhill road until you reach a busy road. Cross the road and keep walking down another 100 metres or so and Centrotel is on your left side. If you are travelling with a lot of luggage, it may make sense to get off a station or so before Victoria and take a cab (Victoria to Centrotel is too short a distance for a cab).
