Top Local Tips for Anavissos

Go to Sounio around sunset, totally worth the trip! Most people probably skip the Poseidon Temple ruins at Sounio along the Attic Coast because they focus on the Acropolis in Athens and Delphi further north, but the view of the temple columns at sunset blew us away. If you have a little more time in Greece, definitely make time for this, and go just before sunset (maybe an hour before) to see the ruins against beautiful orange/purple light. The beaches are great too, not as congested and commercial as in the islands. It's possible to get a little private stretch of beach all to yourself in off-peak. I'm glad we took this drive!
