The hotel describes its decor as "minimalist," but that is to say that it has no lobby furniture except a ripped vinyl sofa. On the other hand, the rooms are too small to accommodate the furniture squeezed into them (the chair was permanently wedged under the desk, the bed having been moved in after it). The "staff" consists of one woman who cooks breakfast and cleans the rooms (unless she's called away to do something else, in which case it's fend for yourself) and several men who occasionally wander past the desk on their way to relax in the kitchen. The phone is answered by voicemail. In its favor, the price was reasonable since it inlcuded a good breakfast (70 EUR) and I liked the Alimos area. The tram into central Athens takes 15 mins (30 min to Syntagma) and the tram stop is almost directly across from the hotel. The beach at Alimos is passable, too. Parking looked impossible, but I never failed to find a space within two blocks of the front door. The area is very busy with the 20-something set, but Master's Pool Hall and Internet Cafe around the corner caters to young and old alike. I would definitely recommend the area (and perhaps a bit further south toward Glyfada and Vouligameni for more of a resort feel.
