To start with the end, better stay home.
Hotel is rated 4*, what a joke, it's more like 2-3* according to US/EU standards. Room, so-so. Small fridge with bar inside the room, don't try to put your personal drinks inside, they will throw them out. Also don't try to go to dinner with short pants or slippers, you are not allowed. Oh, forgot, this is not Waldorf Astoria, i's a small hotel on the beach. Forgot to mention, my brand new BMW M3 was vandalized in the parking lot of the hotel second night, steering wheel and navigation/CD stolen, EU 5,000 lost, car immobilized. Nobody cared, policeman came to the scene could not stop laughing by what had happened.

You literally fall out of bed onto a perfect white sand beach. This hotel is perfect for those wanting to avoid children and the worst kind of Brits abroad. The other guests were mostly German, Russian / Czech & Greek.
Built at the bottom of the cliffs (the town at the top!), don't be too put off..if you have difficulty with steps or steep walks, get a taxi everywhere because the location is worth it.
It is very clean, the staff in the main very helpful and friendly. The decor is very simple, chic and cosmopolitan. Downside for us was that despite having two bars, one didn't open the whole 2 weeks and the pool bar, although great views, was deserted by 9pm, as was the residents lounge! We wanted a quiet holiday but that was maybe too quiet for evenings and so had to go up to the town or to bed! The town is very untouristy and quiet, although enough tavernas / restaurants to eat in a different one everyday.
Lovely, peaceful place to just getaway from it all.

Top Local Tips for Afitos

Travelling Around I would recommend that you hire a car if you want to see some of the peninusular as some villages are a little way out and would cost lot in a taxi.
