Top Local Tips for Aegina
Aegina's busses These are not the best feature of the island by a very long way. In the low season they run more-or-less to time, and they are not expensive. Th e tip is - do not assume that the will wait until the correct time to leave the terminus in Eagina Town ... the one time you would expect good punctuallity in Greece. Another tip - I found Agia Marina very friendly, far more so than Aegina Town, which in turn was far more so than Athens.
Ish-Time The Greeks run on "ish-time". If the bus time is 10:00, get there way early. Some times even if it gets there early, it will leave early, not at 10:00. Some times way late too. Our ferry was a half hour late, so give yourselves extra time to be on the safe side!
Temple of Aphaia Definitely go! It is so interesting and gorgeous - a real photo opportunity. It's best to get a guided tour but even if you can't it is worth going up there to admire the beauty of the ruins and also the panoramic view of the sea, surrounding islands and gorgeous plants and flowers.

My room was a little quirky (corners not square) but very well furnished & with the best air-conditioning I have met on 3 continents (rooms vary). No swimming pool unless you count the Agia Marina bay 70 metres away. Continental breakfast very good, 'though the same each day. Will come again.
