Top Local Tips for Stuttgart

Mineral Spa Worth a trip to the Leutz mineral spa at Bad Canstatt (4 stops from central station). Take your own towel (we had to buy one and it made it a bit expensive). For the same price as a public swim in UK you get a whole host of pools, indoor and out, of different temperatures, hydro massage jets, and various saunas and can stay for 2 or 3 hours or the whole day. Very interesting but be prepared to be naked in the sauna.

City Map of walking tour The hotel gave us a city map, and a self-guided tour of downtown Stuttgart, that took a couple of hours. Very nice time-filler.Actually Stuttgart is not at the top of my travel locations, except it is where I pick up my new Mercedes!

A Must for Ballet Lovers and Fine Arts Enthusiasts The Stuttgart Ballet company is one of the finest in the country since John Cranko's time and Marcia Haydee's reign. The ultra-modern glass-cube art museum on Königsplatz is worth a visit but ranks second to the Staatsgalerie with its superb collection, particularly of modern art (Beckmann, Schlemmer, Klee).
