If it's beer you're after, you couldn't do any better than this tidy, atmospheric hotel in central Munich. You could literally fall out of the Haufbrau Haus into the Platzl. Not bad after downing a couple of their mega-draughts. It's also close to a lot of great shopping, eateries and sights of old Munich. The rooms are clean, but a little dark and why don't Europeans like queen beds? The bathrooms are also clean, but a little dated. The whole place is in good shape, but just needs some updating. Breakfast was good with lots of sausage to combat the previous night's digressions. It's not cheap, but that keeps out the real loud, cheap drunks who puke and whiz in the streets.
