Would stay again!
from Happy_Travelor_2007The staff was very attentive (conceirge gave excellent recommendations) and the hotel has a very convenient location (accross from the Hauptbanhoff which is the main Munich train station). A walk to the Marienplatz from the hotel is approx a 10 minute straigt walk. Room decor was modern and appealling and the bed was very comfortable. Hotel breakfest was very good and worth the money.
The only negatives we encountered were as follows: tv only had 3 English stations (CNN, BBC and M tv), our room was missing an in-room safe, we constantly deactivated our room keys on a daily basis ( Both myself and my husband travel very frequently and we have never had this happen to both of us on a daily basis).
booked ONE night stayed for FOUR!
from tvkerwalking distance from hofbrauhaus, marienplatz etc...beautiful rooms, excellent food and staff was amazing! would definitely recommend and stay again!
Very Nice Visit
from A TripAdvisor Memberrooms were very modern. expensively appointed with wood, marble and a flat screen tv. they were quiet even though we were right above the street.
the breakfast was exceptional though unless you had it as part of your room package it was quite expensive.
we enjoyed our stay and will stay here again if we ever return.
Truly Satisfied!!!

Great hotel, great location
from A TripAdvisor MemberThe hotel is literally across the street from the Hauptbanhof train station in Munich (the main train station), so we just hopped on the subway at the airport and 45 minutes later we were checking in to our room. They initially set us up in an interior courtyard room that was very small, but after we asked to see something else, they offered a much larger exterior room on the same floor that overlooked the parking garage. Because we weren't there for the view from the hotel room, we happily took the extra space. It turned out to be quite nice, giving us plenty of room to lay out our clothes to air out (very smokey in Europe) each night. Plus, the room had a door that opened to the outside, and we were able to hang some clothes outside on the railing to get more air exposure.
We found the hotel staff to be top-notch. Each time we made a request of the housekeeping staff, they responded within 10 minutes. The people at the front desk spoke fluent English, and were always available to answer questions. The shining star was the Concierge. This gentleman spent an inordinate amount of time answering our questions, giving us directions, making reservations, etc. Each request was fulfilled with a pleasant smile, and all of our experiences were exactly as he described. Beware the fee for his reservation services, though - it was around 20%. We didn't mind, because we budgeted pretty high, but I doubt that economy-oriented travelers would be staying at this hotel anyway, so that's probably not going to be a problem for most guests.
The hotel was an easy one mile walk to the main city center (the Marienplatz), and because we were so close to the main subway station, we never rented a car the entire time. We were able to either walk or take a subway to everywhere that we wanted to go, and if the destination was outside of the city, the wonderfully efficient rail system was also just across the street. Although at times we were exhausted from all of the walking, I don't think that we would have had a better experience being closer to the Marienplatz, because the quality of the room and the hotel itself was above anything that we were likely to find at a comparable price closer to the Marienplatz.
The swimming pool and jacuzzi were wonderful and very clean. We did not eat at the hotel restaurant, nor did we stop at the hotel bar, because we wanted to experience all that the wonderful city had to offer. We did not use the gym, but it looked to be clean and in good condition.
Also, we did not use room service.
Each room has a plasma wall TV, which was very nice, but the system used to operate it was kind of lacking. Because we didn't understand much of the dialogue, we didn't do too much channel-surfing, so it wasn't a big deal. Each room also has a programmable combination safe, which was very nice - no keys to tote around or hide. The bathroom was very well laid-out, but our shower leaked water out onto the floor through the doorjam. The heated towel racks over the tub were great for drying out wet clothing quickly, and the housekeeping staff kept the room very clean each day.
You will need to bring a power converter or borrow one from the Concierge, as the power outlets are all European configuration. There was a high-speed Internet connection in the room, but we didn't bring a computer. We didn't use any of the hotel's business services, because we were on vacation.
We had absolutely no complaints, and we would most likely stay there again if we go back. Highly recommended to anyone!

from A TripAdvisor MemberTop Local Tips for Munich
Travel to city It is about 35 mins by train to the city train station. On arrival at the airport, you will find the train station as part of the main arrivals area. The fare costs very little, there are English people on hand to help, and the journey could not be easier
Travelcard Buy a 3 day 1-4 zone partner ticket astounding value- E21 for all public tarnsport for 2 people- fast efficient clean with good links- hard to beat really
Getting a partner ticket is best deal If you are a group of 2 to 5 plan ta take the S Bahn from the airport to the city, no matter when is your arriving time, buy a partner one day ticket only 18 Euro which allows 2-5 passengers to ride from the airport to the city and for the whole day until the 6am next day. since Munich Airport is quite far from the city. Take S8 is faster to Le meridien.
