Great hotel within easy walking distance of the station. Rooms quite adequate if a bit small. The window didn't open fully because of the canopy bed legs which was a bit annoying as it restricted outside airflow into the room. The room's internal airflow system was inadequate. The garage is underground and is suitable only for smallish cars - very restricted room to turn. Remember you will need to book car parking space with the hotel in advance of your arrival - at an additional cost.

This hotel was excellent....very clean rooms with canopy beds..rooms were small from american perspective but good size for european standard. We walked all over the Marienplatz and shopped and ate. Went to Hoffbrauhouse...easy walks everywhere.. the train station is really close..there was cheap food many people. Staff spoke english very well and were very polite and friendly...we loved it for a place to lay our heads...after a day of sight seeing.

My sister and I were pleasantly surprised with the King's Center in Munich. The hotel was very attractive with 4 poster beds and was very clean and comfortable. The breakfast room was very homely and the vast choice and quality of food was enough to satisfy the fussiest of eaters. We certainly weren't left hungry.
All in all the hotel exceeded our expectations and was also conveniently located. Our last night in Germany left us with pleasant memories

The place was great. It was nice and quiet, plus big. The staff was very helpful. They agreed to let us stay 4 more hours past the checkout time. Overall a great place, next time I'm in need of a place to stay in Munich, I will choose this place.

Great Value

My wife and I spent 3 nights at the Kings center. The other reviews are right on. Great cocktail bar, perfect location, courteous staff, and clean rooms. We arrived in Munich after a 10 hour train ride and were surprised to find a great little Italian restaraunt accross the road. We can't wait to return to both the hotel and the restaraunt.

Good hotel for its value

We loved the location - 5 minutes walk to the main train station, making our half-day trip to Dachau and leaving Munich by train much easier and time-saving. Dowtown is 10 minutes away by U-Bahn (probably 15 - 20 minutes walk but we didn't walk to downtown). We did walk to the Oktoberfest ground, and it was about 15 minutes. One of our favorite beer gardens Augustiner Keller is an easy 10 minute walk.

The room was small but not too terrible. The staff were helpful but not too overly friendly. One gave me a lecture when I asked for a room away from the street. Breakfast was included for us, and it was good - eggs, hams, yogurts, juices, fruits, etc.

Overall I would recommend this hotel, and would stay there again.

Fantastic Hotel***

This hotel is in the heart of Munich and is a classic! You walk in and the lobby is in warm wood, highly polished and very nicely decorated. The staff were superb and very accomodating.

My room was fabulous, a four poster bed in every room, wonderul comforters and very comfortable beds. The rooms were spotless. The bathrooms were very nice also, and the whole hotel is very eco conscious!! (Green).

The breakfast which is included in the price was great! Couteous wait people and wonderful food.

When I was at the bar, reading my book unwiding, I met many people from all around the world and every one of them told me the same thing, "that they wished there were more of these hotel's around Europe so that they could stay in one where ever they went on their journey's".

I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone. I had never been in Germany before and this experience made my trip all the better.

Good location, great value for your money

Great location only 5 minute walk to train station and 10 minutes to town center. The rooms were very nice, clean and well decorated. Although our room was toward the street and we left the windows open , it was quite at night. Hotel staff was very friendly helping and giving suggestions to different areas of the city. The hotel offers breakfast for 12 euros.

Although the hotel does not have any air conditioned, we felt no need for it at the time of our stay.

Staying at the Kings Center Hotel was a wonderful experience. The staff was so friendly and helpful. We arrived during a heat wave, and the hotel did not have air conditioning (normal for Germany). The room got a little warm, but the desk clerk found an electric fan for us. Rooms are small, but extremely clean and well appointed. The morning breakfast was in a lovely setting, with plenty of excellent food and service. The location is perfect if you want to be centrally located. The walk to the main train station is a 5 minute walk. I would recommend this hotel to anyone.

Two Poster Beds

Extremely handy from the train station and within walking distance of all the main shopping areas and tourist areas.

Posh reception made us wonder if we had the right place! Friendly and helpful reception staff. Extremely clean rooms and bathrooms. Unusual two posted four poster bed (!) squashed into what was not a big room. Offers a good range of services - from Dry Cleaning to a Cocktail Bar. We got a good deal when we booked on xpedia.

Highly recommended as a base in the centre of Munich.

Loved this hotel. Great location - easy walk to the town center and market. Bed was comfortable and room/bath were clean. Spent 2 nights here and would definitely stay here again. Very reasonably priced. Booked reservation through e-mail with hotel and got better rate than through on-line service.

My family stayed there for 2 nights. It is a very clean and nice hotel. We had a bit of a problem with our reservations "my travel agents fault"and the fine gentelman at the front desked assured me they would take care of it and he did. Everyperson we had contact with was very efficent and personable. We stayed in 7 different hotels in Europe and this one was certainly one of the top two places we stayed.

I just returned from a 3 night stay and truly enjoyed it. I booked it due to reviews written on this website and was very happy. the location is great, very close to Main Rail station and if you want 2 stops to Marienplatz, although you can walk there also. Canopy bed was a very nice touch, the staff was wonderful. We arrived early (of course) and the front desk said it may take an hour for our room to be ready, we said "fine , we will have breakfast" and within about 15 minutes our room was ready, and the gentleman came looking for us to tell us so. I would definately stay again. Loved Munich and Bavaria. !!!!!

My partner & I have just arrived home in England from four nights at the Kings Centre Hotel.

I cannot praise the hotel enough, I stay in hotels on a regular basis and this is the best! Spotlessly clean, wonderful staff, especially the young lady who was on reception this week on mornings, lovely smile, very efficient, unfortunately they do not have their christian names on their suits, only an initial and surname... .......

It was my 60th birthday yesterday, on our return there was some frssh fruit waiting in our room, a quarter bottle of sparkling wine and two glasses and card saying 'happy birthday! Brilliant marketing, and very welcome!

We got the best rate from Travelocity but no doubt this may change, just book it!

Top Local Tips for Munich

Tips Schloss/Nymphenburg's Neuschwanstein castle excursion is overrated - a lot of waiting around unless you are with a tour. Not worth the 2 hour train ride.

Free Walking tour By all means, take the "new Munich Tours" - free walking tour (costs only a "tip" and also take the same company's Dachau tour (19 euros) and you will be most fortunate if Megan is your guide. She was great!!

Make the most of your money! Get on a walking tour, and definitely get out and see Dachau. Make the most of the bakery stalls in the train stations - beautiful pastries and filled rolls for next to nothing - make the most of your Euro!
