Super Convenient Airport Hotel

from Richard_SW11
I stayed here with my family when we arrived on a very late flight.

It is very convenient: you can walk with your airport baggage trolley right up to your room. We were picking up a rental car the next morning and that was a short walk away too.

The rooms were large and well designed. The atmosphere was calm and relaxing.

We experienced some confusion over breakfast arrangements. After eating a large and sumptuous breakfast at the buffet we discovered that we had only paid in advance for a more modest 'Express Breakfast'. The difference was over 50 Euros for 2 adults and 2 children so be careful.

Very Chic, Modern and Comfortable

I'd like to this hotel a 4.5-star rating (a 5-star rating goes out to perfection). It is snug up against the Munich Airport terminal. You walk inside only to be greeted by an awesome atrium. I don’t really have anything to complain about. The room was very nice, new, modern and updated. Even the facets looked “ooooh”.

We had a breakfast buffet downstairs the next morning. It must have been the best one I’ve ever had.

Although on the pricey side, the Kempinski is a very positive recommendation of mine.

Great location for transit

from bobdobalina
We stayed here whilst in Munich for 24 hours in transit. Location was excellent. The room was top notch. The hotel did seem to have a sterile feel, aimed towards businesses. We had no issues checking in earler, and checking out was easy. If you only have a short time in munich, this hotel is ideal due to its location to the airport. The rooms are largem and the bathrooms are good. I would stay here again if I visit Munich again

Fantastic Service..

from TravelFan1
After having to cut short our Christmas holidays due to illness, we booked into this hotel for 2 nights whilst waiting for our onward flight...This was the saving grace of our trip...pure luxury in an airport hotel!..The room was huge with a bathroom nearly the same size that had a very deep bath and fantastic power shower. The wellness centre had a decent sized pool with a bar area. The food really was first class. Cocooned in this hotel you really do forget you are at the airport.!!..Nothing is too much trouble for any of the staff they are brilliant...We stayed over New Years Eve and the place was packed!!..There is only one place to stay at Munich airport and this really has to be it.!

Excellent, expscially the buffet breakfast

from EuroTravellerPG
We spent the arrival and departure night of our German Xmas holiday at this hotel.

We were very pleased with the rooms and service. We availed of favourable pricingduring this period and had a corner Suite for the first night (cost €180) and found this to be very spacious and well appointed. Had I needed a room to have client meetings whilst staying at this hotel, this room would have been perfect.

Our regular room on the last night of our stay was smaller but still well enough appointed for our needs.

The single exceptional item in this hotel was the buffet breakfast which is the best I've sampled in 7 years of businees hotels. (included in our rate)

I would definitely stay here again.

An OK business hotel

from Joizee_HD
This is your typical business hotel at an airport. It is a short walk from the terminal and has value in this regard. It is a nice, open layout with large, clean rooms. There is plenty in terms of comfort, and you have multiple options for meetings, etc. It is also very easy to reach via car and is connected easily to Munich via S-Bahn. I wouldn't come here on a private trip unless I was connecting via Munich or something along those lines. I was here for a conference and it was fine for two days. I have nothing to complain about but there wasn't anything that makes me want to write about anything out of the ordinary.

A pleasant change

from A TripAdvisor Member
I spent the last night of my two week vacation at the hotel in October. The room was exceptionally nice although I was surprised that there was no bidet. I got up before my wake up call and didn't hear the phone ring. They sent someone up to the room to knock on the door to make sure that I was awake. That was a truly nice touch and earns the hotel high marks.

The only complaint is that the banquet for the BMW Golf Tournament was being held in the lobby, and I could not enjoy the atrium because of the crowds. This also meant that the restaurants were overcrowded because several other snack areas were closed. I was unable to get a table in the buffet restaurant and had to go to the Thai restaurant which, while good, was not what I had wanted.

The location is very convenient to international flights, and I highly recommend this hotel - especially if there is no "event" in the lobby.

Modern, Luxurious, Expensive

from ceby
Kempinski Hotel is very modern (glass atrium), clean, well-maintained, and pricey. Rooms are good sized and reminded me of the rooms in large American city hotels (ala Hyatt, etc) but everything at Kempinsky looks BRAND SPANKIN' NEW! This is a world-class hotel, and some of the literature in the room boasted of several celebrity guests (Shania Twain, for one). I can see why they stay here. It is luxurious, and they can afford the price.

Very good place to stay

from A TripAdvisor Member
My husband and I were in Munich a few days in September and hadn't made plans early enough to have a vast choice in hotels. In fact I called about 12 hotels directly adn was told that either they were booked on our travel dates or there were no nonsmoking rooms available. So, we decided we'd try the airport, having worried a bit about the travel time to get into the city. Well, we needn't have worried. First of all it felt great to walk from the airport luggage belt to our hotel within the same compound. The hotel is beautiful, clean, has a great restaurant, and has the most comfortable beds and pillows. We stayed on the concierge floor and our friends stayed in a suite. Everyone was very happy with all the goodies in the bathroom, nice turndown service, pretty views outside the window (in our case a beautiful garden and in the other couple's case the planes taking off!). Getting to the train took less than five minutes each morning and the ride into the city took about 35 minutes, which flew by because we chatted up with locals coming back into town from the airport. It ended up being a fantastic idea. Next time we are in Munich, we will likely do the same thing -- stay at the airport and use it as our "base of operations." It was a wonderful feeling to come "home" each night to a luxurious room and full service, whereas most downtown hotels would be a bit tighter a fit.

Perfect place for the airport.

We ended our European vacation at this hotel and have no regrets. We were supposed to stay in the center of Munich until the day of our flight but changed our plans to stay here the night before. We were a little hesitant because of the price but we decided to splurge for convenience. This was a good decision. The hotel is beautiful and the rooms are really nice. We hung out in Munich until we could go no more, then took about a 45 minute S-Bahn ride out to the hotel. We were greeted by a super friendly front desk clerk upon arrival. She did everything to make our stay as nice as possible. The best part was it took us a maximum of 20 minutes to leisurely walk to the airport and complete check in the day of our flight. We could have even taken advantage of checking in for the flight right from the hotel. It doesn't getting anymore convenient.

Top Local Tips for Munich

Fun and low cost eating at the Munich airport The Air Brau (or whatever it's called - something close to this) at the ground level between terminals (and barely inside the Terminal 1 shopping arcade) is fun, low-cost, and good quality Bavarian and other foods. Not too easy for vegetarians to find something, it IS easy to find a solid and pleasant meal at a very reasonable price. Their home brew is acceptable (for German beer -- which is always a disappointment) and inexpensive. Most people really like the beer and the price. However, I like the food and festive atmosphere of this lively and large dining establishment.

Train Take the train from the airport to the center of Munich. For 10€ round trip you can see the sites after a 45 minute ride... Great deal...
