Top Local Tips for Munich

Oktoberfest If you have to come to Munich during Oktoberfest (I had a business meeting two days prior to the start of Oktoberfest), book a hotel in advance because they get filled very quickly even the days leading up to Oktoberfest.

Use Public Transport Munich has an excellent transportation ticket. You can buy a 3-days go-as-you please for up to 5 people for as little as € 21!

Use Public Tranport from Train Station or Airport If you arrive in Munich by train or air you can easily get to your hotel using public transit. The cost of a Munich Transit partner's day ticket is 9 Euros from the Hauptbahnhof to anywhere in the inner ring or a Munich Transit partner's day ticket is 18 Euros from the Airport (take S8 to Marienplatz or other stations to transfer to other lines to get to your hotel). If you have luggage take the elevator in the middle of the station to reach street level. When you walk off the elevator you will see the K+K Hotel across the street.
