Disappointing rooms in nice ambiente

It may sound contradictory, but this hotel is both nice and comfortable and bland. I liked the halls, the bar and the restaurant but the room was not especially appealing. It lacked first of all, all the usual amenities, such as tooth brush, comb, slippers, etc. But you can get this for free at the reception if you ask for it. Furthermore the style of the room was boring. The TV was very small. Overall I think the room (except for the size of the bathroom) was more a room that graduate students would rent than a 4 star hotel room.
