Anyone wanting a short (or even a longer) break to Berlin would find it hard to beat the CASTOR hotel for location, friendliness, cleanliness, and great facilities.
Quietly situated in the heart of West Berlin's up market Schoneberg area, it is still well located for U-Bahn and Bus connections and merely a few minutes away from the Ku'damm main shopping street, the KaDeWe department store and dozens of great pavement cafes, bars and superb restaurants near Nollendorfplatz.
It's also a great base for trips out to see the historic sights and museums in Berlin.
The staff couldn't be more helpful, there is a 24-hour reception desk where they sell those oh-so-important late night munchies, plus maps, souvenirs and much more.
The rooms are not huge but are clean, comfortable and have good facilities, and breakfast is a delightful buffet of fresh fruit, meats, cheeses, many types of rolls and breads, unlimited tea and coffee and some nice little extras that fill you for the whole day.......
