The Radisson SAS came to the rescue when my original plans to stay with "family friends" did not work out. Also I was ill and pretty miserable when I arrived. The sympathetic hotel staff offered me a wonderful room at a remarkable. price. The included breakfast was marvelous and The staff was friendly and helpful. Given the perfect location and very modern well appointed rooms my stay in Berlin turned out to be wonderful thanks to the Radisson SAS Berlin.

We had a fantastic time staying in the Radisson. The hotel is very centrally located, right next to the river and there are lots of places to eat and drink. The room was gorgeous, spotlessly clean with beautiful views of the city but the most breathtaking thing of all has to be the HUGE fish tank, which literally takes your breath away as you enter the foyer. I loved the unusual and very interesting architecture. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and would definitely stay there again.

This hotel is in a great location for sightseeing in Berlin. The hotel is centrally located for visiting the :

The Berlina dome
tv tower at alexerplatz
sealife center
museum island
boat trips on river spree

The accomodation is of a high standard and is well worth the 99 euro rate.

Just back from 4 nights at this hotel and it really lives up to its reviews - friendly, unobtrusive staff, great cocktails in the aqua lounge and bizarre but beautiful view of 2,500 fish from our window!
Don't worry about the v expensive breakfast - there are several bakeries and coffee shops right beside the hotel, most of which are open from around 7.30am.

The hotel is excellent, both for its service, the staff is professional
and very friendly, as for its design. The lounge with the aquarium,
the restaurant with view to the dome, we liked all very much.
The design of the interior is really top, we will return in summer,
because the hotel has a beautiful terrace, only the river is between
terrace and the dome. A TOP Hotel!

A truly awful reservations experience

from lhowland
I use TripAdvisor.com regularly so when I saw that the Radisson SAS Berlin had been rated the number one hotel in the city I was confident I would be in for something special.

Instead I was in for 8 international calls to the hotel and the central reservations number because the people I dealt with firstly reserved me rooms on incorrect dates and secondly failed to send me any kind of confirmation.

I've now resolved the issue and am just hoping that my actual stay will prove less stressful than the reservations process. Based on the evidence so far, this will be a triumph of hope over experience.

Really lovely hotel

Just got back from a three night break too, fantastic hotel. We had lovely views and the service was great. I mentioned in passing to one of the staff that it was my other half's 30th birthday, and when we next came back to our room they had left him a lovely wooden box of delicious truffles.

The room was lovely, beautifully designed, and we absolutely loved the spa, with its three different saunas and pool (all included in the price).

My only gripe would be that the breakfast is extremely expensive, but then again you don't have to have it, so it's a small point.

As good as ever

Just returned from a 3 night stay, well what can be said, a top notch hotel.
Paid 99 euro rate, and was upgraded to business class room, over looking the berliner dome.
Would highly rate the Hotel. Eay acces to prime areas, trams and trains withinh 500 m.

Deservedly No 1

We too got the 99 euro rate which is astounding for the quality. We were too late for a dome view but we had a 6th floor room overlooking the park and we were pleased with the view. we could see the twin church steeples of the Nickolaikirche and Marienkirche and if we lent out a bit we could see the huge television tower. It was snowing pretty hard too so that helped with the view! Also you can upgrade to Business class for about 40 euros a night and then you would get your guaranteed view, full breakfast, movies and newspapers. That is pretty good value but we were only there for a short visit so we thought we would save it til next time.

The location is great. The only thing I can add to the other reviews is that you must pop over the park opposite the hotel to the Nickolaivertel area. It is very pretty and full of bars and restaurants. We preferred it to the Hackescher Hof area but that may be because we are in our 40's rather than our 20's! there is a great restaurant there called Reinhards - check out the forum page for more info.

We stayed at the fantastic Raddisson SAS Berlin over the New Year 04/05 and it's simply one of the best hotels I've ever stayed in!!! As soon as you walk in, the aquarium just stuns you with its beauty and size! The staff are attentative and polite and the rooms are superb! The LCD tv's really make a difference and the room design and the 'wet room' style bathrooms are great. The spa is also one of the best! All in all, I have no hesitation in reccomending this wonderful hotel.

t wait to go back

I stayed here over Xmas. The hotel is an amazing structure and incredibly stylish without being pretentious. The location is great, near the centre and with the trendy shops & bars of Hackescher Markt a five mins walk away. The staff are helpful and attentive and the food is good. (one tip: although the food is reasonable, a bottle of water is 11 euros) Ask for a room overlooking the Berliner Dom and you will have a lovely view. Great value 99 euro rooms. Would unhesitatingly recommend.

Top Local Tips for Berlin

Go Vist Monsieur Vuong in East If you like to eat asian/vietnamese; go visit this restaurant which is near the SAS Hotel.

Great restaurant austria - 30 bergman strasse and englebecken in gharlottenburg.

Sale e Tabacchi, Italian restaurant 20 minute walk A short cab ride or pleasant 20-25 minute walk south of the hotel is Sale e Tabacchi, an excellent, traditional Italian restaurant.
