This hotel looks fantastic, very modern in design, both in the communal areas and rooms. Although it is small generally (as you would expect from a boutique hotel), they have made the most of the space in the lobby/bar/breakfast areas by keeping them filled with light and air. The rooms are small, but spotless, and the only complaint I have is that the air-conditioning was a bit temperamental. Even though it was March when I visited and not particularly warm, the room was small and it got quite stuffy, so it was essential the air-conditioning worked. I would hesitate bringing children to this hotel. Although I'm sure they welcome children, I didn't see any there during my stay; the atmosphere is one of quiet-cool and noisy kids would be a jarring incongruity. The hotel is situated right at an U'bahn station: a blessing at the end of the day after a heavy day of sightseeing, because you only have to walk a few yards to the bar/bed. The area itself is extremely quiet, so you won't have to worry about lots of noise at night time. Would I stay there again? Absolutely...and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone.

I stayed at Art'Otel-Mitte to celebrate my birthday in November 2003. The hotel is a good value for the location that it is at, especially given the fact that it is right in front of the subway station. The decoration is minimalist and my room was really spacious. There is at least one more Art'Otel in Berlin, but I would recommend this one due to its great location

Cocktails Visit the Bellinni Longe in Oranienburger Strasse. Open until 5am at weekends, has the most extensive list of cocktails you can imagine at great prices. Happy hour until 9pm too!
Berlin Zoo Berlin Zoo was one of best we've been too. Animals appear to be well looked after in large cages and there is a number of rarer animals we've not seen elsewhere.
Fat Tire Bike Tours Not really an attraction, but the fun of a Fat Tire Bike Tour of Berlin really made the weekend for us!
