| Great location, yet quiet |

The hotel is situated just a few metres down from the main Kurfurstendam boulevard, and so there is absolutely no traffic or other street noise, and yet still centrally located. The staff were really friendly and helpful with information about tours, restaurants etc. The feeling was quite homely instead of cold as you often find in a large hotel chain. Public transport is only a few minutes walk away if you need it. Great variety of extremely reasonably priced restaurants in the immediate vicinity. The continental breakfast in the hotel was fresh every day and really good. No bad points at all really. The room had a shower (my wife would have preferred a bath, but we knew that before we booked) and that was about the only 'shortcoming'. The room was bigger than normal with high celings giving an airy feel. Will definitely go there again! |

We stayed here for 2 nights as part of a tour. Contrary to what the management have said, no toiletries were supplied for our room or the rooms of our friends on this trip. This was not a problem for us as we always take them with us but it should be pointed out to other travellers.
The hotel has character and the rooms are clean and adequate(but not if you are looking for something upmarket).The staff are very friendly and helpful but the meals leave something to be desired (on the second evening the meal was not as described ie no chips with the beef burger and no mashed potato with the roast pork). A sort of dumpling was substituted instead without the guests being informed beforehand. The breakfast was also poor in regards to quality and quantity.
However, having said the above we thoroughly enjoyed our trip. The hotel is not expensive and you get what you pay for. |
