For travellers wishing quasi-apartment living in a hotel, this is THE choice in Strasbourg. The hotel is located on a main street abutting a residential area, and near a large park and recreation area (Parc de l'Orangerie). Facilities include a kitchenette (!), and larger apartments can accommodate a family of four. Rooms are nicely furnished, and fully equipped with all the amenities. Staff are friendly and helpful. Breakfast is included in the very reasonable room rate. An excellent Italian Restaurant and an ice cream parlor are just next door. The bonus is the weekly market which takes place close by, and stretches over several blocks. All manner of foodstuffs (freshly baked bread and pastries, fresh fruits and vegetables, cheeses, milk, yogurt, sausages, etc., etc.), clothing, furnishings, and oddities are on display and for sale. The bus stops nearby, and the tram is a 10 minute walk away. If you are looking for a "home away from home", want to control food costs, or simply prefer your own cooking or eating at your own table for a change, the JSB Residence Hotel is highly recommended.
