Rooms are small but clean. Staff are very friendly and helpful. The location is great, walking distance to everything interesting. I wouldn't recommend driving there, even my GPS was unable to get me back there each evening. Park in outskirts, take the tram in.

Top Local Tips for Strasbourg

Petite France, all the way! We went to "L'Eveil des Sens", (Awakening of the Senses) in Petite France and it was terrific. I recommend it to anyone who wants to splurge a little and have a romantic dinner. The dishes were well executed - great fois gras selections - and be sure to try out the local Alsacian wines!

A fantastic city to visit at Christmas time and go by boat! Strasbourg is gorgeous at Christmas time (it is one of the most beautifully decorated) - each street is completely decorated and lit (chandeliers and lights, lights, lights). The christmas market surrounding the cathedral is amusing. Buy a glass or two of mulled wine and walk the city streets. It's magical. I also recommend taking the boat tour. I think it is 8 euros per person. You get a different vantage point of the city and it's a nice way to see it if you are short on time and want to see as much of the city as possible. Make sure you try their local wines, especially their Riesling - and the fois gras!

Exchanging currency We had U.S. dollars to exchange for euros and no banks would perform the transaction. We found out that only the main post office, next to the cathedrale, would exchange monies at the fare rate.
