Great place, but horrendous owner ruined it!

The hotel it's self was fantastic and the website pictures did not do the place justice. Beware though, it is a good 3 miles from town and a return cab drive cost us 50 euro's! The hotel owner has a special deal with the seasonal taxi service and won't recommend any other than the most expensive as she gets commision. The owner was in her late 50's and so unfriendly I thought she must be joking. She hated children and pretended not to understand me when I spoke english, not the most helpful start to a holiday. I later heard her speaking perfect english! From the minute we arrived she was sullen and unfriendly, telling us the room was not ready and that we would have to wait and couldn't leave our bags inside out of the sun. If anyone else takes over the place I would reccommend it thoroughly but she ruined it for my daughter and I and we paid 385 euros a night for the pleasure of her surly face! plus there is no restaurant and after 8pm you can't get anything from reception as it is closed!! plus the dog swims in the pool which might put you off!
