An excellent small hotel of seven rooms. My wife and I stayed here for four nites in June, 2005 and enjoyed this type of hotel very, very much. Clean, lovely (smallish but surely adequate). Muriel, Eric and their children were charming and made us feel right at home from the moment that we entered the door. Muriel's cooking is fabulous. She speaks English quite well and also very good Spanish. Price was very good and for sure a real bargain considering prices in other parts of France. I would not hesitate to go back to Le Clos D'Usse if I were in the area. Also, hotel is about a five minute walk to the Chateau Usse, a real charmer. Town of Rigne-Usse is very easy to reach by car and there are many wonderful side trips to make in the area. We especially liked the town of Lorches, about 1 1/2 hours by car from Usse. Scenery in Loire Valley is magnificent and the people are very hospitable. We have been in the tour business for 26 years now (retired two years ago) and we darned well know when something is VERY GOOD. So it is at Le Clos D'Usse...
