Excellent Hotel. Great location, clean, big bathroom, comfortable king bed, flat screen tv.
Best hotel I've stayed at in France.
I would thoroughly recommend it.

Champagne visit
from A TripAdvisor Member
I stayed at the Best Western Hotel De Paix in Reims over the easter weekend for 3 nights.
Was a bit concerned after I booked this hotel as some of the pictures provided via lastminute[...] were pre renovation. However I was pleasently surprised on arrival. The hotel is as central as you can get to be in Reims center but close enough to visit all the champagne region by car. The hotel is very modern, bright and very clean. The hotel is a 3* although if it upgraded it's facilities it would be worthy of a 4*. I upgraded to a privilage room for an extra 28 euros per night and it was well worth it for the space and the amazing walk in shower which was very welcome after touring the countryside. Breakfast is 12 euros and all I can say is it does the job but is not very varied for a continantal breakfast.
Overall a good hotel which is central.
Tips:- Take a French phrase book if your French is limited.
- Visit the 3 Brassieres restaurant if you want good simple food at a cheap cost (in the high street)
- A visit to Veuve Cliquet cellars in Reims is well worth it.
- Parking is across the road from the hotel in a multi storey, 10euros per day.

what a find
from Traveller111London
This hotel is a great find in Reims. I would highly recommend it. The hotel has undergone the refurbishment that is mentioned in other review/
All I can say is the foyer is large, clean and bright with very helpful staff.
The room was clean but small with a new bathroom and a great power shower.
The bar was buzzing and quite trendy - worth a couple of drinks.
The fitness centre/pool is v small and functional.

Great place to stay
from A TripAdvisor Member
Have stayed at this hotel several times in the past and always enjoyed it. In the last 18 months the hotel has been under refurbishment and was not too sure what to expect having read some other reviews. I would reccomend this hotel as the location is great, the rooms comfortable and the bar area is now funky and modern. The front desk was helpful and polite and it is a bonus having a secure garage to park your car, it is worth paying €10 to know that your purchases are safe. Had a lovely stay and can't wait to go back.
Great Location!!!

Good location - Close to all Reims attractions. Monoprix supermarket accross the street. Also parking across the street is cheaper that the hotels own lot.
Nice hotel, basic rooms.
from Elbows29
The hotel is in a brilliant location, walk out of the door and you are right in the town centre.
We had a car, the GPS took us right to the entrance and we spotted the hotels underground car park straight away. The car park is bright and clean, unfortunately there is an 11 euro/night charge which we didn't know about...it is worth it though for the time it saves.
The lobby is very nice, it looks brand new, staff were friendly.
The rooms are a bit basic, look like they need renovating, not too bad though. The television was VERY old and not working properly, however, as we were getting in the lift to leave they were bringing up a big pile of big LCD TVs to put in the rooms!

the heart of champagne
from A TripAdvisor Member
I am in the wine business and have been staying at the Hotel De La Paix for over ten years. I would guess I have stayed there at least 12-15 times over the years. Additionally, I have stayed at several of the more expensive hotels in the area.
After my most recent trip, I will not stay anywhere else. From the beautifully redone facilities to Errol the bartender, this place is perfect for business and pleasure without breaking the bank. The same concierge has been there every time I have visited.
I will be returning in the spring.

One half or the other?
from Annikajeanette
Arrived at the Hotel De La Paix in the afternoon and immediately got access to the private underground garage of the hotel. This was a crucial part for us since our load was heavy and expensive - champagne.
The hotel's location is outstanding. A couple of steps (literally) from the hotel you are at the center of Reims. It takes about 10 minutes to stroll to the Notre Dame (Reims' version) and the pedestrian streets are very cozy.
The hotels receptionists were a bit haughty, but very effective. I got the feeling the personell thought they worked at a Four Seasons hotel, but hey it's just Best Western.
We lived in the left part of the hotel which was the part that had not been refurbished. It was a bit oldfashioned and outdated but at least clean. We especially liked the bathroom which was both fresh and clean.
The rooms are rather small but if you are just staying one or a few nights you will be just fine.
The breakfast is 11 Euro, but has a good selection of cereals, cold cuts, breads and - naturally - freshly baked croissants.
You will be content with this hotel if you are not expecting luxury.
Warning: The hotel "promotes" a restaurant (they also have a direct door to this restaurant) called Tavern something (not the breakfast place). We went here - BAD MOVE! Don't set your foot in there. It's expensive and the food is actually quite disgusting. Avoid it at all costs.

Very happy in Reims
from Nokia99
Booked the Hotel De La Paix based on fellow Tripadvisor comments and my wife and I were very happy with our choice. Had never been to Reims before and the hotel location is perfect. Very close to the Railway Station (5 min walk) and in the centre of Reims. Friendly staff, good food and a very relaxing bar and pool. One condition however, we were on the top floor (room 506 I think). Our room was brand new, very modern, very clean and had a beautiful view from a balcony. I suspect rooms on lower floors did not have a balcony and hence would be less impressive. Would stay again.
t know what to expect
from chipsmiths
I hadn't know what to expect, some of the reviews for this hotel were so bad, we almost looked elsewhere. However the location was rated as v good, and for a short stay that's very important.
Hotel very easy to find ( always a bonus)and has its own secure parking ( as we were accumulating a bootful of champagne, again a bonus!)
We had opted for a superior room, after reading some of the comments on this site, and were quite amazed by the quality and size of the room, it certainly exceeded our expectations. Fabulous bathroom, everything we needed in the room, clean, modern and stylish.
Location v good, five minues to several very good restaurants, twenty minutes stroll to three Champagne houses- Veuve Cliquot, Taittinger and Martel, lots more, but ran out of time.
Pleasant bar for late night drinks.
Thought the breakfast was a little pricey, so went 200yds up street to bakery for excellent pastries and coffee, otherwise would highly recommend this hotel for short break to Champagne area.

Top Local Tips for Reims
Mumm Champagne House You can tour the Mumm Champagne house without booking in advance and it is also available on a Sunday. It was surprisingly interesting and the tour is free however I would recommend paying to try the different types of Champagne they produce
transport make sure taxis booked well ahead,eg. difficult to find at station.
Bus If you are going to some of the Reims champagne houses, and don't want to drive take the bus. You can check out the routes at most stops. Verve Cliquot for example is on the F route (stop at Place des Droits de Hommes). Tickets can be purchased at any tabac.
