Charming and enchanting

Charming, charming, charming....bewitched or enchanted, both you will be, as were my Prince Charming and I! This is exactly the place where Gary Cooper would have invited Audrey Hepburn for a little "Love in the Afternoon" coz the Ritz lost its discretion nowadays.

In the middle of Paris, just 2 blocks from the "Grands Boulevards" and 10 min. walk from the "Opera Garnier", in a quiet, secluded and very characteristic old street of Paris, I have found this hidden and newly renovated, freshly refurbished Boutique Hotel. The lobby already enthralls with its Eiffel glass roof and the reception area captures ones attention with the very imaginative decoration of an authentic Boing 747, which gives you the illusion of still walking in the clouds.

The rooms are very spacious, immaculate and decorated with love and care, keeping the typical parisian style but upgraded with a modern minimalist flair. The colors are especially very subtly chosen, a palette of pastel, implying tranquility and sensuality. Brand new bathrooms, with an agreeably surprising good water-pressure.

Charming, once more, as well as prompt, the staff with its fluent english, alluring French accent and unmissable avant-garde French poise...c'est la vie en rose...

The croissants I discussed are exquisite, especially dipped into my "chocolat chaud" , languishing still in bed, whilst I was scanning through the freshly delivered "Herald Tribune", as Breakfast is taken by the classy epicurean French always in bed! Do as the French do, before darting in a new day of Parisian exploration...

For families, or more conventional lovers, there are also rooms with connecting doors and an elaborate breakfast buffet....

TV & Wifi, are there, but I suggest you ignore it if you can, and just enjoy your stay at this delightful Hotel and make the best out of it!

Historical Traveller Reviews of Windsor Opera Hotel

Loved the Windsor Opera, will stay again.

The Windsor Opera is a charming three story hotel in the heart of the Opera District. It is located within a short walking distance of the subway and many nice shops and restaurants. The Windsor Opera, located on a one-way side street, helped to reduce traffic and pedestrian noise. Complimentary breakfast was very good and mini-bar was well stocked

I found the rooms to be quaint and very clean. The staff was very helpful and accommodating. The front desk staff, being bi-lingual, spoke English continually, offering assistance in our travel and tour plans in order to insure our enjoyable and safe time in Paris.

We would definitely stay again.

Nice ands comfortable place close to everything for a reasonable price

I spent a WE in Paris during an European business trip. Windsor Opera has been advised by one friend of mine. This hotel is not the Ritz or the CArlton but it is a good one for people loving be in charming clean and well situated place. Rooms a big enough, which is an important point when you are lodging in Paris, price is reasonable, staff is multilingual, smiling, and cares about service. Breakfats is good in a comfortable room.
Hotel is close to everything and located in a small street which makes it very quiet and restful.
Definitely a good place for foreign tourist in Paris.

Great Value and Location

from alison33
I stayed at this Hotel with my daughter for 3 nights. The taxi driver struggled to find it at first but once we got there we were very impressed with the welcome we received. The first room we were given had an obvious smell of smoking, but they changed us to another room straight away. Our twin room was quiet, warm and more than OK for the time we were there.
The breakfast was good, with yogurt and fruit as well as fresh croissants and bread. Location brilliant - close to restaurants and shops and 3 Metro lines. Best of all was the helpfulness of the staff - best way to get to places, booking taxis etc.
This is not the Ritz certainly but as budget hotels go it was one of the best I have stayed in.

Delightful Hotel Stay

My wife and I have just arrived home after a three month world trip which included some six weeks in Europe.

We had the opportunity to stay at the Hotel Windsor Opera on two occasions during that time and can honestly say it was the best boutique hotel we stayed at during our travels. The central position, professionalism of the courteous staff, room ambience, cleanliness and value for money made the Hotel Windsor Opera a most delightful place to stay.

Wonderful Hotel

I stayed at the Windsor Opera Hotel in December of 2005 for 1 week with 3 of my friends and it was a great hotel. The location was close to everything. You can walk to the city center in 20 minutes. A walk to the nearest metro stop is only 2 minutes. The service was great and we have no compliants.

Friendly hotel well situated

A nice and friendly little hotel, situated in a silent area, near the "grands boulevards" and not far walking to the "Galeries Lafayettes" (15 minutes), with clean and large rooms, a cosy breakfast room. The 2 guys in charge of it are also friendly and will help you organising your visits and stay in Paris. I often go there (at least 5/6 times a year), always happy. (By the way... I really can't understand some of the bad comments below ! certainly not the same hotel !). Enjoy you stay there.

Perfect for students

from A TripAdvisor Member
As a student working to a budget, I needed a basic, clean hotel with a nice room and bathroom for the night. The Hotel Windsor Opera provided just that - it's not the kind of place where you want to spend hours, but with so much to do and see in Paris, we only needed a place to sleep!

The room was a good size, the bathroom was clean, there was a nice flat-screen TV on the wall, and the hotel staff were perfectly friendly.

I'd recommend others to use the Bonne Nouvelle metro station, which is closer and in a nicer neighbourhood than Chateau d'Eau.

Fantastic experience at Windsor operq hotel

from A TripAdvisor Member
Just back from a very nice week in Paris. Do not believe TV : Paris was not surrounded by riots, we did not see any violence, everything was quiet. Also do not believe the rude comments concerning Windsor opera hotel written down this page : maybe somebody trying to get a refund ! To be honest, Windsor opera is the best value I ever had ! Rooms are simple but clean and functional, large enough, and very quiet.
Imagine a small 19 century building in a typical parisian street, located in the exact center of the city. Three blocks down, the "Grands Boulevards" (do you know the song of Yves Montand, walking on the "Grands Boulevards"), shops, trendy pubs, theaters, Galleries Lafayete and Opera...
But in the street of Windsor opera hotel, just quietness and peace. A lot of metros and bus stations all around.
Staff was young, dynamic and friendly. Greg and Vince, many thanks to you both for having helped us to plan our visits, our restaurant and excursion bookings, all your recommandations were perfect !
Good value for little buffet breakfast to 11am (they do themselves the croissants, and cafe expresso is excellent).
Low point : we did not see the 4 meters Christmas tree being decorated in the lobby, it just came the morning we were checking out.
But we will definitely be back next Xmas with 2 children, because they have several family rooms, as some parents told us during breakfast.
Do not hesitate, Windsor opera is an exellent choice !

Very well communicated

from A TripAdvisor Member
When i arrived there i didnt find it easily but when i saw, really it is very nice, very well communication with metro and bus, very near the Opéra, like 25 minutes walking, near restaurants, pubs and shops.
Rooms are very nice. And receptionnist are gentle. Vicente and Georgi helped me a lot when i was there. Thank you very much to you both. I will never forget you.
I recommend this hotel to everybody. Breakfast is excellent. Very comfortable hotel.

Top Local Tips for Paris

Be careful of the gypsies! My father's wallet was stolen, along with his identity. Please keep your money/wallet in front and on your upper half if possible. ANY pocket if fair game.

MEtro Buy a set of carnet tickets - they are really good value.

Eating in a bar If you are in a bar that does not serve food they will allow you to bring food in as long as you buy a drink.
