Very good standard of accommodation with a friendly efficient service and comfortable room. Ideally situated for Metro, shops and main places of interest. This hotel gets our recommendation.

The Hotel was just fine for my short business trip into Paris. The staff was at all times very helpful and friendly throughout my stay. The rooms are tastefully decorated in style. They are a bit small and one can feel a bit cramped in the room I stayed. But maybe I get a slightly bigger room at the same rate during my next stay.

Our experience at the Villa Pantheon was excellent until the last 10 minutes of our stay. The staff was friendly and attentive, and we enjoyed having an evening glass of wine in the lounge while we listened to live piano music. Unfortunately the only snafu in the stay was big enough to be a deal breaker for us. The snafu in question occurred while checking out. As it happened, I was being charged $50 per day for breakfast ($25 times two guests) when my reservation specifically included daily breakfast (this was confirmed at check-in). While our light breakfasts each morning were tasty, $25 a head for a glass of orange juice and a croissant is an extortionate price even in Paris. I am a business traveler and I understand that mistakes happen no matter where you stay, I also know that what differentiates a good hotel from a lousy one is how well they try to recover. In my opinion Villa Pantheon did not try at all to help me and left me to deal with this on my own. According to the staff there my only option was to contact Hotels.com with whom I made the reservation and demand re-imbursement from them. They seemed to know that I had a flight to catch and that I did not have an abundance of time to debate the issue. Upon returning home I found that it was very easy to make a reservation with Hotel.com, but it seemed very difficult to find anyone willing to help me correct my problem. So I finally gave up and wrote off the extra expense as "education". Today, I have not stopped traveling in Europe, but I have stopped using Hotels.com and I've stopped staying at the Villa Pantheon. Since I made that change I have been able to spend my time living happily ever after instead of dealing with disorganized, apathetic people.

We enjoyed the Villa Pantheon very much. As a mature couple we look for a high standard of comfort and cleanliness. VP rooms are well appointed. In addition, VP is especially convenient to restaurants and metro and a quaint street market. Highly recommend this hotel.

Wonderful Service

from A TripAdvisor Member
My wife and I had a lovely week at the Villa Pantheon in January 2004. The location is quiet and ideal for walking the ciy. There are many interesting (and relatively inexpensive) restaurants nearby. The rooms are not huge, but are very nice. The staff was very kind to us and went out of their way to make our stay special.

We never spent any time in the restaurant bar as there are many other more appealing night spots in the vicinity.

We were offered a hotel frequent visitor card for 50 euros which allowed for a room upgrade. For a week's visit, it was well worth the money.

perfect retreat home from home

wonderful hotel spotless think of a gentlemans club in london all dark wood and burnished brass with dark coloured drapes reflecting the victorian era and you will sum up this hotel. Do not be put of by first impressions of the rooms they are quite small and very darkly decorated but this reflects with the style of the whole hotel and it comes together beautifully spotless with very polite staff and very very nice breakfast in quiet breakfast room time to plan your day all in all if you get a good rate an excellant choice very well situated 2 mins to notre dam I would find it hard to fault anything about this hotel I was here for a romantic break for my anniversary and it was perfect even though it rained extremely hard all day long it did not dampen my enthusiasim for paris try this I am sure like me you will not be disapointed only down side very very pricey in the bar we chose to have drinks elsewhere but hey this is 4 star prices to match of course.

relieved!

My husband and i stayed there in july, 2003 and really enjoyed the hotel. it's france, so the rooms are small and the hallways smelled of B.O.... but the room was very clean as was the bathroom. we are very picky when it comes to where we stay (esp. so bcuz when we were there i was 8 mos. pregnant), but we were relieved and pleased. it's close to the metro (we really overpacked w/2 huge suitcases), basically up a short hill. staff was very friendly & helpful (and they spoke english). there's a delicious italian restaurant nearby (basically kitty corner -going towards your right if you're just leaving the hotel) their spaghetti was great!

quiet in a great location

We stayed here for Easter Weekend 2004. We paid for a Deluxe room (no.253) which was well worth it. The room was quite large and faces onto the the rear courtyard , which is so quiet you don't realise your staying in a major city. We slept with the windows open and didn't hear a thing. The Hotel in close to a couple of Metro stations and the Seine , Louvre , Notre Dame and Jardin de Luxembourg. We didn't have breakfast as the Patisserie across the street was fantastic! The staff were also very pleasant and helpful. We would definately recommend a stay at the Villa Luxembourg.

Excellent Hotel with Superb Staff

We stayed here for 5 nights in March 2004. The Hotel is immaculate, and staff are extremely helpful, with almost all of them having very good english. We had booked a standard room rooom 204 which is fine but quite small. (About 2-3 feet space around the bed) The first night we were talking to Daniel who does reception at nights. He said that if we took out a VIP card for the Hotels des Paris Hotel Chain he could upgrade our room. The cost of the card is 50 Euro. For 5 nights this was a bargain. We were upgraded to room 111 which is a big room with two chairs and loads of space. It is also very quiet as it is behind the courtyard and not facing the Rue Des Ecoles. This upgrade really made a difference and we thoroughly enjoyed the stay. We had the breakfast included in our deal, which was good. Bacon, eggs, sausages and mushrooms were also available in addition to the usual continental fayre! Overall a great Hotel in a great location, with pleanty of restaurants nearby. Ask for Daniel and get an upgarde if you can!

A little higher priced than what I have done in the past in other travels, but this place was well worth the extra expense. I found it to be perfect for my first-time visit to Paris. Just below St.Germain, close to Metro, and within easy walking distance of Notre Dame (15 min) and Louvre (I would say about 25-30 min). Staff was good, has a nice lounge/bar, room was spotless every day, and neighborhood was very quiet. I don't really do this sort of thing, but I did use this site to find a place in Paris and figured I should add my piece. If you can spend a little extra and are looking for a mellow comfy place, I think this is a solid choice. It's very nice in a low-key classy way, and was perfect for me. I would recommend it highly.

Enjoyable but not a knockout

from A TripAdvisor Member
My wife and I recently spent four nights in a standard room at the Villa Pantheon on our first visit to Paris. The hotel presents a very attractive facade and has nice, albeit small, public spaces with a clubby feel. The staff was generally pleasant, helpful and efficient, although a request for extra pillows went unfulfilled. A follow up call indicated that none were available that day, but some would be delivered the next day. Of course we suspected this would not be the case and it was not.

The location is decent enough, but the room was quite possibly the smallest we have ever stayed in and rather basic. As I said, it was our first trip to Paris so we have nothing to compare it to, but if you are expecting spacious and luxurious accomodations based on the 4 star rating consider booking a deluxe room or looking elsewhere.

great hotel even greater staff

Brilliant hotel. Lovely room. 10/10 to Jerome on reception, so friendly and helpful. Loved this hotel and already planning to go back!!

A wonderful find

from A TripAdvisor Member
My mother and I found the Villa Pantheon with the help of Jerome at the Normandy Hotel, one of their partner hotels. After three wonderful days at the Melia Colbert in St. Germain, we had to find a hotel for the weekend and ended up at the Normandy (no longer deserving of its four star rating). Jerome was kind enough to transfer us over to the Villa Pantheon and we were thrilled. Our fourth floor courtyard room was clean, well appointed and spacious by European standards. Jerome (of Villa Pantheon) and the entire staff were courteous, kind and very helpful. We stayed three days and have not one complaint. I would highly recommend this hotel.

Top Local Tips for Paris

Bakeries, Cheese Shops, & Wine Stores nearby Wine Shop one block down from hotel has great selection, good pricing, and a friendly, British clerk who is extremely helpful. The Keyser bakery is directly down from the Wine Store and is one of the best bakeries in all of Paris, and finally, the Artisan Cheese shop around the corner down from Keyser Bounlager offers the most wonderful French cheeses available (try the Brie stuffed with Walnuts--YUM!!!)

Paris in the Springtime If you are not familiar with Paris, stay in the Latin Quarter.
