This hotel is as good as it gets. Clean (very clean), relatively modern, in a GREAT LOCATION and the staff is always friendly (even though I can't speak the language). My wife and I are returning to Paris for the 4th time in 6 years. I wouldn't even consider a different hotel!!!

The Hotel Viator is in a great location, the rooms are spotlessly clean, and the staff is most accommodating. We have stayed there 3 times and will return this summer.

The hot water stopped working one morning (as I was in the shower). Upon notifying the staff, I was told that it was being fixed, and upon calling later, was told that it had been repaired, and the hot water "had to make it's way up to the second floor". I returned later in the day to find that the hot water still was not working, and, indeed, the hotel had not even had a plumber inspect the problem. Not only was the hotel without hot water, but the staff blatantly lied about the issue. Additionally, a hotel guest should never have to wait days to have hot water. A hotel should always have maintenance people whom they can call in emergency situations (such as an entire hotel full of guests not having hot water).
The staff (with the exception of the wonderful cleaning staff) has no idea how to treat its customers. Upon advising them of the hot water issue, instead of apologizing and ensuring that the matter would be resolved, I was subjected to a very irate man and woman at the front desk who treated me in an incredibly rude manner and said only, "it will be taken care of tomorrow".
During a previous visit to the hotel, six months prior, I had notified the front desk that the key to my room was not working properly and that the mechanism to hold the shower nozzle was broken. Six months later upon returning to the same room, the items had still not been repaired!
The elevator was completely out of service for the entire length of my stay (3 days). This was the second time that I had been to the hotel and found that their elevator was out of service.
This hotel is in decline and does not know how to treat customers. I would not recommend it to anyone. Hopefully, with renewed attention to customer's needs, a new attitude, and numerous repairs, it can regain its former status.
