Me and my boyfriend went to paris as our first holiday abroad together. we stayed four nights in Timhotel nation, and couldn't have picked a better hotel. The rooms were a comfortable size, and the bathroom was very clean. The staff were extremely assisting and willing to help at every available opportunity.

The location, however, was not brilliant. Being situated in the suburbs of Paris, Place De La Nation was fine during the day but I would not recommend walking around on your own at night. a fair few fights broke out on the street while we were there. A metro to the Eiffel tower took between fifteen and twenty minutes.

There are many lovely patisseries near by, and lots of take aways, including some decently priced restaurants. The Nation metro station is about a ten minute walk from the hotel, but if you like walking i would recommend perhaps walking into the city centre, as that way you get to see more sites.

Breakfast was simple and yet appetising. the usual coffee, tea, croissants, pain-au-chocolat, bread and biscuits were available.

A monoprix was a mere five minutes walk away, selling cheap goods such as wine, sweets, snacks etc.

Overall, I would recommend this hotel to anyone, but would advise that they take care in the area.

Top Local Tips for Paris

Nation Metro Stop The Avron subway is the closest to the Hotel, but if you can find your way to the Nation stop just 5 minutes away, it makes for a more convenient trip as that Line will take you pretty much everywhere that most tourists want to be. Also, if, like me, your french is completely non-existent, the staff at the Nation Metro speak English. That helps a lot!

Metero Use it, its a fantastic system and cheap. Buy a set of 10 tickets at the ticket office in the main stations abround 1.10Euro a ticket

Go for it Use the metro, it's amazing and can get you anywhere, just brush up on your basic 'francais' and it'll be perfect.
