Being a frequent traveller, we have stayed many hotels in europe and asia. But hotel therese is one hotel we had such a pleasant stay and enjoyed the ambience so much that we cannot forget this memorable stay we had. How we wished the stay in paris was longer! Thank you for making the hotel such a surprise for us, and we will definitely recommend to friends and colleagues and return as a staying guest should we visit paris again!

Historical Traveller Reviews of Therese Hotel

Great hotel, but small rooms

from A TripAdvisor Member
My husband and I stayed here in early October, 2004. While we agree with most other reviewers on this site -- the place is charming, the staff is great, and the location is fabulous -- we did find the room to be miniscule. Since we were only there for one night, it wasn't a big deal. However, if we ever were to stay for more than one night, we would request a larger room than the basic standard. The queen bed took up almost 3/4 of the floor space! Other than size, this place is great.

Perfect location

Just returned from my first trip to Paris. Booked this hotel on a recommendation from a friend.
Location is great, easy access to all the major sites and metro stations. Rooms smart, clean and tidy, some of the rooms are a little small, however you are there to experience the city. Staff are fantastic and very helpful, when we return we will rebook this hotel again.

perfect location near Louvre

I chose this hotel based on the reviews and i was glad that I picked this hotel. Great location , 5 minutes to metro (pyramides) , 10 minutes from Louvre and a lot of small eatery to choose from. Room and bathroom is very clean .The bed is comfortable & pillow sheets smells good .

Very comfortable place

from IreneNewJersey
We stayed in this hotel for 2 weeks in September of 2004. This is excellent place to stay in Paris - not luxury, but very clean and comfortable, with very friendly professional staff speaking good English. We had Superior Double which wasn't large at all, but we had everything we needed there: excellent clean bathroom, safe, small bar-refrigerator, TV, table with 2 chairs, fan. Bed is very comfortable, they change towels every day and bed sheets every 3 days. Location is very central - several minutes to Louvre, about 15 minutes to D'Orsay and about 12 minutes to the Opera, you can walk in minutes to 3 central Metro lines (to stations: Pyramides, Palais Royal and Les Halles - a little further - 12 mins walk) and to RER. Also it is very convinient to get there from Charles de Gaulle airport using RoissyBus (it is express) to Opera - from there about 15-20 mins walk along the Ave of the Opera or you can take a taxi (bus costs you 8.3 eu per person and depending on time of the day runs from 40-60 mins - about 5-10 mins longer then taxi time, but at least 4 times less expensive
We are definitely going to stay there again when we are in Paris

t Need to Look Anywhere Else

When I return to Paris, I won't have to think twice about where to stay -- I'll be sure to book at the Hotel Therese. This is a very convenient, very QUIET spot along a tucked away, side street, the Rue Therese - which doesn't get much traffic at all. It's very close to the Louvre. The rooms are small of course, but extremely comfortable. And the staff is great -- my husband and I spent one night there at the beginning of our vacation and had booked elsewhere in Paris for three nights at the end. After one night at the other hotel (with no A/C and not so quiet), we called the Hotel Therese to see if we could move. And we were accomodated by the Hotel Therese immediately and checked into our room before 9AM! I highly recommend this hotel in Paris for a restful night's sleep; a caring, professional staff who takes great pride in their work (and they do speak English); and a convenient and beautiful section of Paris.

Fantastic Location, Incredible Value

from A TripAdvisor Member
I read reviews on this site before booking and we weren't disappointed. Spent five nights at the Hotel Therese last week and it was a very enjoyable stay. Cost was 110 euros ($130) per night. The room was clean, small (similar to a Manhattan standard room) and very well appointed. It's a short work to the Louvre, Musee d'Orsay, Notre Dame and Musee Rodin. There are plenty of great restaurants in the area. I would suggest Cabaret and the Buddha Bar (expensive but very cool). We bought Batobus passes that let us take taxi boat up and down the Seine and metro passes so we could get to the Panthenon, Montmartre and Montparnasse. People at the hotel were friendly and it's going to be our regular Paris hotel.

no hesitation in recommending

we absolutely loved our stay here! the room was small, but modern and comfortable. the hotel was lovely and the staff were very helful. the location is in a business district so very quiet at night. it is very central and you can walk everywhere from here. the louvre and palace are a short walk away aswell as lots of lovely restaurants and cafes.

the only small problem was the bathroom didn't have any space for toiletries and the shower didn't have anywhere to put the soap and shampoo etc. other than that it was perfect and we will definately stay there again!

Nice Boutique Style Hotel

We stayed in this hotel the last week of May. This hotel is very cute, and well groomed, and in a wonderful location. The rooms are extremely small, even by European standards, but clean. There is not a bar area, and the breakfast down stairs is OK. The staff is friendly and helpful. There is a convenient store down the street from the hotel, which was handy.

Great Location

I was in Paris from January 1 - 4th, 2004 and stayed at the Hotel Therese, due in part because in St. Germain was sold out for those dates. The rooms are quite small but tastefully decorated with a great shower! The location is fantastic, everything is within walking distance. The staff are very friendly and extremely helpful. This was my first trip to Paris and the entire experience was wonderful!

Nice Place

from A TripAdvisor Member
Just returned for a trip to Paris where my wife and I stayed at Hotel Therese for 8 nights. Our stay was very nice with fine accommodations, friendly service, and a good location in central Paris. We had a very small, but quiet room (#101) and there was only a bit a space left after staging our bags on the floor. Otherwise, everything was top notch, with one exception. The refigerator in the room did not work and when told about this, there was no interest by the hotel to have it fixed. Overall, we got a good value for our price.

Top Local Tips for Paris

Buddha Bar! Metro stops Definitely do dinner or drinks at Buddha Bar (japonese/ sushi)- it is SO NEAT! The hotel can give you directions... Also, if you come into town on the metro, the hotel website tells you to take the grand palace/ louvre exit- Dont!!!! The Pyramides stop is much closer to the hotel. I don't know why anyone would pay over $100 US for a taxi, (other than older people) when the airport and train stations have metros that will take you straight there for $2.!! I would not recommend going to paris in march (as we did)- rainy, cold, and windy as crap!

Winter in Paris December is low season and it shows in the prices, however I highly receommend Paris for Christmas. It is very festive and the city is very beautiful even on grey days. Just remember to wrap up.

Take the Bus Take the bus from CDG airport. It will literally drop you off a few blocks from the hotel. We didn't have transportation arranged when we arrived and it was our first time to Paris. We just asked at the information desk. They directed us to a vending machine where we purchased tickets for the bus and hopped on.
