Have stayed here many, many times. Great location with metro just outside door, and taxi stand across street. Perfect neighborhood, polite staff, reasonable rates. Clean and comfortable. Look forward to my next stay.
Great place to return to

My wife and I have stayed at this hotel on numerous occasions. We enjoy the warm and hearty atmosphere and the fact that we don't have to walk all over town to find interesting boutiques and restaurants. It's all there in the neighborhood. The cafe's, the market around the corner and all the good friends we have found over the years are just across the street. The rooms are fine and the price is low compared to the many other places we have stayed in Paris. In short: Highly recommendable...and remember to close the door to the escalator!
A pleasant Surprise

I was living in France at the time (February 2004), but not in Paris. A girlfriend had caught the train across to meet with me for a few days before i was going back home to Jamaica.
The first night we tried a student hostel, but the walls were paper-thin and it wasn't comfortable at all. So the next day we set out to look for another one. We were wandering somewhere in the 5th and my friend noticed the sign.
The gentleman at the counter was really pleasant and conversed with us in English without hesitation til he realised I spoke French. The rates were good, so we switched hotels. And we're glad we did. We had our own shower (what a relief) and the room was clean and you could tell it had been aired. The French breakfast was nice also. Also,(perhaps the best thing) the entrance to the hotel was a hop, skip and a jump from the Metro stop. This hotel isn't luxurious, but it's clean, reassuring comfort.

I shared a really small room with a friend but somehow it was just fine. It had big windows opening up to a beautiful blvd view(a little noisy at night). It had a really clean bathroom that was very well taken care of each day . The front desk had helpful friendly really warm people and the breakfast included a delight. The location was great and I'd return in a minute.I was shown rooms with less facilitiys and for less money, and they also seemed just fine.Oh yes....English spoken at the front desk!
