LOVED IT!

We stayed at Le Parc for 3nights in July. The location is great! We enjoyed the short walk in one direction to Trocadero and The Eiffel Tower and in the other direction a short walk to the Arch de Triomphe. There were also 2 metro lines within a short walk with easy access to the rest of Paris! There were quite a few dining options in the area for breakfast and dinner. The rooms were very nice and quiet in the evenings with air conditioning. Although some might think that the rooms needed some TLC I looked at the paint peeling from the bathroom door as adding character to the room. The shower was a little odd to me. The tub had a 1/2 glass hinged door on it that I suppose was to shield the water spraying from the shower but it really did nothing of the sort. It was a little difficult to take a shower but this is not an area that would prevent me from returning to the property. I did think that the cost of the breakfast was a little over the top and we chose to go to a small local pastry shop every morning for fresh squeezed OJ (they used about 6 oranges! in the squeezer for 1 glass) and some very good pastries and quiche. The service from the front desk to the maids (the maids left the next days weather forecast on your night table) was all excellent. Nothing was too large or small for them to handle. I would highly recommend this property.

Top Class Hotel

Whilst only staying at this Hotel for one night for a special birthday visit for my wife, I would thoughly recomend it to anyone thinking about visiting Paris.

As other reveiwers have said, the little touches make it all worth while, the hotel is situated in a prime spot with easy metro stations a short walk. A five minute walk to Tracadero with it's view of the tower and great resturants made our visit all the more special. An effort to converse with waiters etc in French is very much appreciated and a polite and helpfull exchange can be had.

Had a fabulous time

Have just come back from this hotel and everything was fabulous. It is a very French hotel but all the staff have excellent English and are extremely helpful and pleasant. The room was quite big but had all the little extras that make you r stay feel special - bathrobe and slippers, toiletries etc. The concierge was very helpful and produced maps to make it easy to find our way around. Paris restaurants are expensive but again we found the staff helpful and pleasant. The Eiffel tower is breathtaking as is the whole city. Found CDG airport very badly signposted and very few places to ask for directions so give yourself a little extra time. But this certainly would not put me off visiting Paris again and again. Make sure you visit Paris and make sure you stay in this hotel. You will not be disappointed.

Excellent

We stayed here over the valentines weekend and it was our first trip away. I will point out the only downside:We werent informed of the 150 euro charge deposit which you do get back at the end. However it would be ok if we had a credit card but it came out of the budget. Overall the hotel is amazing. Doormen are soo helpful andeveryone else there too. The rooms are bigger than you need. The breakfast is a must have. There is everything yuo could imagine to suit all needs. Cereal, croissants, bread,chocolate croissants, bacon. sausages, eggs of all types, ham and cheese and fruit salad and all drinks you would want. This hotel is just a 3 min walk to the eiffel tower which we walked to every night. We are planning to return but only to this hotel. I promise you won't be disappointed. Also arc de triump is down the street and all subways too. We also found that it was quite cheap to get in to all of the sights. Visit champs elysees. Its a shoppers paradise and a car lovers paradise with all the car show rooms there. Visit here. Its perfect.

Elegent Hotel

We had an Easter break at this hotel in 2005 and enjoyed it immensely. Whilst not being the biggest of hotels with all the attendent ammenities on offer, it more than makes up for in undeniable charm. It has a great location close to the Eiffel Tower and the Trocadero and a fine restuarant to boot. We stayed on a B&B basis and found plenty of selection each morning. It can be a bit pricey, but I suppose Paris in general these days is that. An example: two screwdrivers will set you back £17 I think it was. Overall though it is a very nice hotel in a great location to explore the city. Be warned, if you go in April it's like St Petersburg! It was freezing!But Paris is a great city nevertheless.

Pleasant but stayed at better

Stayed here for three days. Very near to the Eiffel Tower and Trocadero but felt a bit out on a limb from central Paris. The staff were very helpful but our triple room was quite poky and dark. I agree with other reviews that mention the shower, very annoying. I think this hotel would be better for businessmen or couples as it's reception rooms had a slightly too sophisticated air for our toddler and we felt a bit inhibited at times. Avoid room service at all costs, vastly overpriced for not very much.

Needs some work, but still a nice hotel

The room we had was nice and quite spacious for Europe. However, there were areas in the bathroom and bedroom where paint was chipping away from the walls. I would not expect this in a four star hotel, especially if you are paying top dollar (or Euro). They also need to do something about water splattering on the floor when you take a shower. There is no curtain, but rather a piece of glass - but it's not wide enough to prevent water from spraying out of the shower area. Staff seemed friendly and the chamber maid was very efficient. The hotel is in a good location. There is a great bread/pastery shop about two streets down - direction Trocadero as well as a small grocery store. Several good restaurants are also nearby at Trocadero or Victor Hugo.

A perfect romantic getaway

We stayed at the Sofitel Le Parc Demeure hotel in Avenue Raymond Poincare to celebrate our 25th Wedding anniversary.

The hotel was the pefect place for a romantic getaway and the staff were excellent. The food was good but The hotel gourmet restaurant, 59 Poincare was closed for renovations ( I had wanted to book a table for a special anniversary dinner) but I need not have worried as the Concierge booked us in at a wonderful restaurant, La Table de Joel Robuchon and we had a truly exquisite meal.

The hotel is situated halfway down the street between two metro stations so is easy to get to and the Eiffel tower is only a short walk away.We made full use of one of the Paris Visite cards that give unlimited travel on buses, metro and trains and even went out to versailles and had a glorious day there - the gardens are amazing!

Whilst in Paris if you get the chance go up the Tour Montparnasse as you can get 360 degree panoramic views over the city and some great pictures.

We finished off our visit on one of the dinner cruises and had a very enjoyable evening in good company with a different perspective of some of the sights from the boat.

I would certainly go back again and would recommend Paris as the ideal romantic getaway

Charming hotel

We stayed here for a weekend in early September 2005. This is a charming, romantic hotel. We had a lovely room overlooking the courtyard, so it was very quiet. Service was excellent. The room was nicely furnished and decorated, comfortable, well-equipped and very clean. (The only problem was that the shower screen didn’t fit very well, so the bathroom floor got a bit wet everytime we used the shower!) The hotel is also very well located, within a reasonable walking distance of the Eiffel Tower (and a Batobus stop) and the Arc de Triomphe, as well as the Trocadero with a number of cafes and restaurants, and some metro stops.

Loved Le Parc

Stayed at Le Parc for our 25th Wedding Anniversary in a Junior Suite room. Best hotel I have been in (and have been in many in USA). It has character - not a tower block with all rooms the same. As it was our anniversary the hotel gave us a complimentary bottle of champagne!

Location is perfect - 2 minutes from Place Victor Hugo with Metro, shops, Bistros, Cafes and Restaurants. Less than 5 minutes from Le Trocadero and Eiffel Tower.

Room spacious, huge bed. View over the Terrace - no noise at night at all. Staff were amazing - everyone spoke English and were very helpful. Food was brilliant but restaurant must be booked in advance.

Some signs of wear and tear in the room (paint chips on door etc) but that is not why I go to a hotel for! Will definitely return.

Off topic - Bateaux Parisienne dinner cruise is brilliant - well worth the money!!!

Top Local Tips for Paris

Use the BATOBUS on the Seine Get to all the attractions off the Seine via the batobus. Get a multi-day ticket and you can move freely and easily between the EiffelTower, Arc do Triumph (a bit of a walk!), the Champs Elysees, Place de la Concord, Louvre, Orangerie, Musee de L'Opera, Musee Orsay, Notre Dame, Isle de la Cite, and Musee Evolution (or something like that).

Palais de Tokyo has turned into a skate park Stay away from Palais de Tokyo, over the river from the Eiffel Tower. Beautiful statues and the building have graffiti spayed all over with the steps and fountain pool becoming a skate boarding park full of litter and beer bottles with windows smashed. A huge disappointment!!!! How could the Paris Government allow this to happen I don't know??????

Billet de carnet If like my partner and myself you like to walk in Cities and have a back up buy a billet de carnet between the two of you. You get 10 tickets - one for each single journey. They are not specific to a person so we shared. We got the Eurostar to Paris and then used the metro to get to our hotel. Then, on the whole we walked. However, to ease the aching feet or between larger areas we used the metro. In total we took 5 journeys which was enough
