Top Local Tips for Paris

Eiffel Tower Dinner and Moulin Rouge Show Would definitely do this as it was one of the highlights of our trip. It was extremely good value for money. For 150 euros you get a dinner in the 95 degree Altitude restaurant on the frist floor of the Eiffel Tower, then we had a cruise on the Seine followed by a show at the Moulin Rouge. NB: I would warn any females taking this trip and do not speak French to beware of the cafe/bar RIVIOLI PARK beside the Paris Vision office on Rue d'Alger. We were lured into this cafe/bar where two of our group were very badly treated. I would advise if you are going on this trip and there is nobody in the Rue d'Alger office of Paris Vision to walk to the bottom of the road, towards the park and turn left, you will then find the other office a few doors up on Avenue De Rivioli.

The best way to see Paris The best way to see Paris is to choose a hotel in a central location and walk every where you possibly can! It is such a beautiful city that it is a shame to spend too much time in the metro.

Always take the metro I would recommend that you take the metro as much as you can, walk the other times and take a cab only when it's necessary. This was my second trip to Paris and it was much easier this time because we didn't bother using the hop-on-hop-off tour buses. Although they're very helpful, you always feel rushed. When you use the very convenient metro system you can go at your own pace. And of course you have to walk through the beautiful city streets. That's a must! If you plan on taking the metro a lot, and will be there for more than 2 or 3 days, I'd recommend buying a Carte Orange. It's an unlimited one week metro pass. It's under $20 and you can buy them Monday-Wednesday at any large metro stop where a few lines meet. It's a much better deal than continously buying the 10 packs or buying individual tickets.
